(Matt McClain\/Pool\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>For example, the popular employment social media platform LinkedIn has <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/01\/18\/linkedin-has-discriminated-against-me-because-of-my-political-beliefs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reportedly<\/a> censored conservative voices and posts on numerous occasions, <a href=\"https:\/\/newbostonpost.com\/2018\/01\/14\/linkedin-the-latest-platform-to-censor-conservatives-heres-proof\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/cnsnews.com\/commentary\/craig-shirley\/linkedin-targets-conservative-journalist-infantile-censorship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">conservative commentators<\/a>. Microsoft purchased LinkedIn for $26.2 billion five years ago, CNBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2016\/06\/13\/microsoft-to-buy-linkedin.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Like <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/14\/hawley-hunter-biden-email-new-york-post\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a>, LinkedIn prohibited its users from sharing stories related to leaked information <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/14\/report-hunter-biden-introduced-joe-burisma-executive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">obtained from Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop<\/a> by the New York Post in October, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/volokh\/2021\/04\/19\/what-i-learned-when-linkedin-suppressed-my-post\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reason Magazine<\/a>. The platform even threatened users with indefinitely restricting their account if they shared censored articles multiple times.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter received <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/21\/new-york-post-locked-out-twitter-account-7-days\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sharp criticism<\/a> from conservatives for its decision to block posts related to the Hunter Biden story. The company\u2019s CEO Jack Dorsey was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judiciary.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/Dorsey%20Testimony.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">called to testify<\/a> before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Nov. 17 specifically about the alleged censorship.<\/p>\n<p>LinkedIn received muted pushback in comparison. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/23\/jim-jordan-dissent-david-cicilline-report-big-tech-antitrust\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Jim Jordan Says \u2018Democrats Seek To Embolden\u2019 Big Tech\u2019s \u2018Abuse\u2019 Of Conservatives In Scathing Dissent)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since 2016, Microsoft has banned users of its software from \u201ccommunicating hate speech\u201d and engaging in \u201charmful activity,\u201d according to its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/servicesagreement\/upcoming.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">services agreement<\/a>. The agreement, which users must sign before using Microsoft products, gives the company the right to review content and close a person\u2019s account based on its investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement gives Microsoft broad legal powers to close accounts of users who use the company\u2019s software to create content deemed to be harmful, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/kalevleetaru\/2019\/07\/26\/censorship-comes-for-the-desktop-how-microsoft-has-infused-values-into-windows-and-office\/?sh=a8af9567c5b6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Forbes<\/a>. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled largely in favor of Microsoft in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lexisnexis.com\/community\/casebrief\/p\/casebrief-united-states-v-microsoft-corp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">late 1990s case<\/a> in which the Department of Justice attempted to break the technology company up due to its alleged anticompetitive behavior.<\/p>\n<p>The Judiciary Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/07\/oil-barons-railroad-tycoons-big-tech-amazon-apple-facebook-google-restructured-house-judiciary-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">released<\/a> a <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/uploadedfiles\/competition_in_digital_markets.pdf?utm_campaign=4493-519\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report<\/a> in October highlighting the findings of its investigation into Big Tech antitrust issues, but Jordan and other Republican members of the committee <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/23\/jim-jordan-dissent-david-cicilline-report-big-tech-antitrust\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">criticized the report as partisan<\/a>. The report concluded that Amazon, Google, Facebook and Apple should be broken up, but only mentioned Microsoft a handful of times.<\/p>\n<p>However, Paul Arnold, the founder of venture capital firm Switch Ventures, told the committee that it would be \u201cnearly impossible\u201d to overcome LinkedIn\u2019s monopoly, according to the report. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/06\/small-business-coalition-antitrust-campaign-amazon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Small Business Coalition Launches Antitrust Campaign Targeting Amazon, Big Tech)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai all appeared before the House Judiciary Committee in a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/07\/28\/google-zuckerberg-bezos-antitrust\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">July 2020 hearing on antitrust issues<\/a>. (Graeme Jennings\/Pool\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Judiciary Republicans, though, don\u2019t believe Microsoft is immune to such antitrust criticism. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/07\/oil-barons-railroad-tycoons-big-tech-amazon-apple-facebook-google-restructured-house-judiciary-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018Oil Barons And Railroad Tycoons\u2019: Big Tech Must Be Restructured, House Report Says)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMicrosoft may like to pretend it is an angel when it comes to antitrust, and that it learned its lessons in the 1990s, but many are wondering if Microsoft\u2019s tone now is just a ruse to cover up its own anti-competitive behavior,\u201d Dye told the DCNF.<\/p>\n<p>Instant messaging software Slack filed an antitrust complaint against Microsoft in Europe last year, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/07\/22\/slack-has-filed-an-antitrust-complaint-against-microsoft-teams-in-the-eu\/#:~:text=Slack's%20business%20is%20still%20growing,move%20is%20likely%20good%20business.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TechCrunch<\/a>.
