He won\u2019t, however, appoint his own presidential committee dedicated to investigating the Jan. 6 riot, which saw Trump supporters storm the U.S. Capitol as lawmakers were voting to certify the election for Biden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>House Democrats proposed creating a presidential commission after Senate Republicans <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/27\/senate-republicans-first-filibuster-bidens-presidency-kill-january-6-commission\/\">killed<\/a> a bill to create one in a vote at the end of May. Six <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/20\/35-republicans-voted-jan-6-commission\/\">Republicans<\/a> supported the bill, but 10 votes were necessary to overcome the 60-vote threshold to start debating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongress was attacked on that day, and President Biden firmly agrees with Speaker Pelosi that Congress itself has a unique role and ability to carry out that investigation,\u201d White House press secretary Jen Psaki said according to the report. \u201cBecause of that, the President doesn\u2019t plan to appoint his own commission.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7206219\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"35\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7206219\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7206219\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/GettyImages-1230457438-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"A large group of pro-Trump protesters stand on the East steps of the Capitol Building after storming its grounds on January 6, 2021 in Washington, DC.
