Fauci had taken heat for allegations that he was profiting from the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The publisher National Geographic Books clarified in a statement to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-9645727\/Dr-Faucis-forthcoming-book-REMOVED-internet-posted-presale-prematurely.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Daily Mail<\/a>, however, that Fauci \u2014 the nation\u2019s highest paid federal employee \u2014 will not receive royalties from the book, which is titled \u201cExpect the Unexpected: Ten Lessons on Truth, Service, and the Way Forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cThe book was prematurely posted for pre-sale, which is why it was taken down,\u201d the publisher said. \u201cThe book was developed by National Geographic Books in connection with an upcoming National Geographic Documentary Film about Dr. Fauci. He will not earn any royalties from its publication.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Just The News <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/coronavirus\/faucis-upcoming-book-scrubbed-amazon-barnes-and-noble-amid-backlash\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13.243128964059\">\n<p><em>The book, \u201cExpect the Unexpected,\u201d was earlier pegged for a November release, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Expect-Unexpected-Lessons-Service-Forward\/dp\/1426222459\/ref=sr_1_1?crid=OVD090BBTU63&#038;dchild=1&#038;keywords=expect+the+unexpected+fauci&#038;qid=1622646850&#038;s=books&#038;sprefix=%22expect+the+une%2Cstripbooks%2C146&#038;sr=1-1\">its Amazon listing<\/a>.\u00a0As of Wednesday morning, the book\u2019s listing had been entirely scrubbed from Amazon.\u00a0However, a<a href=\"https:\/\/webcache.googleusercontent.com\/search?q=cache:-vkVydqLMVcJ:https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Expect-Unexpected-Lessons-Service-Forward\/dp\/1426222459+&#038;cd=2&#038;hl=en&#038;ct=clnk&#038;gl=us&#038;client=safari\">\u00a0cached version of the listing<\/a>, still displayed the book\u2019s promotional description and preorder status.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A cached website also shows <a href=\"https:\/\/webcache.googleusercontent.com\/search?q=cache:XP7dkI7iXdQJ:https:\/\/www.barnesandnoble.com\/w\/expect-the-unexpected-anthony-fauci\/1139440641+&#038;cd=2&#038;hl=en&#038;ct=clnk&#038;gl=us&#038;client=safari\">the book\u2019s listing on Barnes &#038; Noble\u2019s website,<\/a>\u00a0though by Wednesday morning that listing was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barnesandnoble.com\/noresults\/9781426222450?_requestid=2590984\">no longer live anymore.\u00a0<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cBefore becoming the face of the White House Coronavirus Task Force and America\u2019s most trusted doctor, Dr. Fauci had already devoted three decades to public service,\u201d an overview of the book reads.\u00a0\u201cThose looking to live a more compassionate and purposeful life will find inspiration in his unique perspective on leadership, expecting the unexpected, and finding joy in difficult times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cThe earnest reflections in these pages will offer a universal message on how to lead in times of crisis and find resilience in the face of disappointments and obstacles,\u201d the overview added.<\/p>\n<p>The publisher\u2019s alleged mistake comes as Fauci faces criticism following the release of trove of emails obtained by The Washington Post and Buzzfeed via FOIA request. As The Daily Wire reported regarding some of the information:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p><em>Journalist-obtained emails from Dr. Anthony Fauci reveal that the bureaucrat said in February 2020 that surgical face masks are not effective for healthy people seeking to resist COVID-19 infection.
