Kevin Stitt signed Friday a bill that renames a stretch of a state highway after former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSection of State Highway 287 beginning at the municipal limits of Boise City extending southeast to the Oklahoma-Texas border in Cimarron County shall be designated as the \u2018President Donald J. The exception was made only for <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/11\/trump-medal-honor-thomas-payne-isis-iraq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Medal of Honor<\/a>\u00a0recipients, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oklahoman.com\/story\/news\/2021\/05\/30\/donald-trump-oklahoman-will-get-highway-named-former-president\/7430340002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to The Oklahoman.<\/p>\n<p>The GOP lawmakers reportedly pushed for an amendment revoking this requirement, thus allowing the state to name the portion of the highway after Trump, The Oklahoman reported. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/25\/biden-tulsa-race-massacre-oklahoma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden To Mark 100-Year Anniversary Of Tulsa Race Massacre With Oklahoma Visit)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"9.6374622356495\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Some legislators wanted to name a highway after former president Trump.
