Forbes notes that under former President Donald Trump, many federal employees were working in-person during the pandemic, with 60% of all federal employees working remotely during the &#8220;peak&#8221; of the outbreak last year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/federal-employees-working-from-home\/2021\/05\/23\/73c34304-b8db-11eb-a6b1-81296da0339b_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Post<\/a> reported last month that the Biden administration was considering plans to allow federal workers to continue working remotely.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., the highest ranking Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govexec.com\/management\/2021\/05\/republicans-press-biden-bring-federal-employees-back-their-offices-immediately\/174157\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> last month that &#8220;COVID-19 cases are plummeting across the country and it\u2019s past time for the federal workforce to return to their places of work.
