It does not show footage of a real event.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The 35-second video shared on Facebook, titled \u201cActual Footage of Lunar &#038; Solar Eclipse,\u201d shows what appears to be footage of a massive moon quickly rising through a sun-lit sky before it temporarily blocks out the sun\u2019s light.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImagine sitting in this place during the day(in between Russia and Canada in Arctic) when the moon appears in this big size for 30 seconds and after blocking the Sun for 5 seconds disappears.\u201d reads the video\u2019s caption. \u201cGlory to God for his creation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The video does not, however, show a real solar and lunar eclipse happening at the same time. Through a reverse image search of key frames, Check Your Fact found the footage in a May 17 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@aleksey__nz\/video\/6963129421117132038?lang=en&#038;is_copy_url=1&#038;is_from_webapp=v1\">TikTok<\/a> video shared by user @aleksey__nz.\u00a0The user identifies himself as Aleksey Patrev on his other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artstation.com\/aleksey_n\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.behance.net\/aleksey__n\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> accounts and describes himself as a \u201cCG artist,\u201d someone who creates computer generated images and visuals, on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/aleksey__n\/\">Instagram account<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Patrev confirmed to <a href=\"https:\/\/factcheck.afp.com\/video-lunar-eclipse-has-been-created-using-computer-generated-imagery\">AFP Fact Check<\/a> that he created the video using a series of digital tools and programs. Other videos on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@aleksey__nz?lang=en&#038;is_copy_url=1&#038;is_from_webapp=v1\">TikTok account<\/a> also appear to show computer generated moons and planets, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@aleksey__nz\/video\/6966459424219073798?is_copy_url=1&#038;is_from_webapp=v1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">one<\/a> that shows the moon exploding. <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/03\/04\/fact-check-neil-armstrongs-space-boots-not-match-footprint-moon\/\">(RELATED: Do Neil Armstrong\u2019s Space Boots Not Match A Footprint He Left On The Moon?)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It does not appear to be possible for a solar and lunar eclipse to occur at the same time. A solar eclipse requires the moon to be between the Earth and the sun, while a lunar eclipse requires the Earth to be between the moon and the sun, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/spaceplace.nasa.gov\/eclipses\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NASA<\/a>,<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A video shared on Facebook claims to show a lunar and solar eclipse between Russia and Canada.Verdict: False The video was created with computer generated images.
