So 117 unvaccinated employees banded together and filed suit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMethodist Hospital is forcing its employees to be human \u2018guinea pigs\u2019 as a condition for continued employment,\u201d the complaint states,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2021\/05\/29\/texas-hospital-vaccine-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> The Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit noted that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not fully approved the vaccines, instead issuing only emergency use authorization. They allege the hospital is \u201cillegally requiring its employees to be injected with an experimental vaccine as a condition of employment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The complaint also cites the Nuremberg Code, which \u201cbans forced medical experimentations, again in effect arguing that the vaccine is experimental and potentially unsafe,\u201d Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/texas-hospital-lawsuit-forced-vaccination-policy\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney Jared Woodfill said the hospital is just trying to make money.&nbsp;\u201cTo&nbsp;promote its business and increase profits at the expense of other health care providers and their employees\u2019 health, defendants advertise to the public that they \u2018require all employees and employed physicians to get a COVID-19 vaccine,\u2019\u201d Woodfill&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/117-employees-sue-houston-methodist-hospital-requiring-covid\/story?id=77977011\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> ABC News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis, as a matter of fact, is a gene modification medical experiment on human beings, performed without informed consent. It is a severe and blatant violation of the Nuremberg Code and the public policy of the state of Texas,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Hospital CEO Dr. Marc Boom in April sent letters announcing that employees must be vaccinated. \u201cPlease see the HR policy that outlines the consequences of not being compliant by June 7, which include suspension and eventually termination,\u201d the letter, which was included in the lawsuit, stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCEOS of other health care institutions are calling nearly every day to ask how we are doing it,\u201d Boom said in the note to staffers. \u201cI hope other health care systems and employers will quickly join Houston Methodist in making the vaccine mandatory for staff. The sooner we\u2019re able to end this pandemic, the fewer lives we will continue to lose to it and the closer we can get to normal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen asked about alternative options for employees who did not want to get the COVID vaccine, Houston Methodist told ABC News that it offered \u2018religious and medical exemptions, as well as deferrals for pregnant women,&#8217;\u201d ABC reported.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-05-28\/texas-hospital-staff-says-vaccine-mandate-breaks-nuremberg-code\">reported<\/a> that Boom\u2019s internal email \u201cmakes no mention of the hospital\u2019s policy to exempt employees who are pregnant, have underlying medical conditions or strongly held religious convictions from vaccine mandates. \u2018It is legal for health care institutions to mandate vaccines, as we have done with the flu vaccine since 2009,\u2019 Boom said in his note. \u2018The Covid-19 vaccines have proven through rigorous trials to be very safe and very effective and are not experimental.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/safety.html\">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a> (CDC):<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"7\">\n<p><i>COVID-19 vaccines are&nbsp;<strong>safe and effective<\/strong>.\u2026&nbsp;Millions of people in the United States have received COVID-19 vaccines under the most intense safety monitoring in U.S. history. \u2026&nbsp;CDC recommends you get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you can.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance,\u201d the CDC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/fully-vaccinated.html\">adds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Joseph Curl covered the White House for a dozen years and ran the Drudge Report for four years.
