Those people have been&nbsp;systematically silenced by their&nbsp;government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow that the world knows how&nbsp;important this is to the United&nbsp;States\u2026 that might provide courage for the ethical scientists in China,&nbsp;for whom this is weighing on&nbsp;their consciences. I think we&#8217;ll see it come out as&nbsp;a result of this inquiry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Pottinger, even if the intelligence inquiry comes up short in its three-month review, a \u201clot can be learned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat&nbsp;we&#8217;ll have is a foundation for&nbsp;additional revolutions to come&nbsp;out from scientists around the&nbsp;world who will now be&nbsp;emboldened, because they know&nbsp;this is a priority of the United&nbsp;States,\u201d he said, adding: \u201cScientists previously frightened&nbsp;of being canceled by the Twitter&nbsp;mob, are going to contribute to&nbsp;this endeavor.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pottinger said what \u201cslowed down efforts\u201d to learn the truth of COVID\u2019s&nbsp; origin during Trump administration were early statements from a few scientists dismissing idea of lab leak, and \u201cinstitutional shortcomings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are political mistakes&nbsp;that lead to trouble in&nbsp;government, and then there are&nbsp;institutional shortcomings,\u201d he said. \u201cI think this is more of an&nbsp;institutional short coming where&nbsp;the intelligence community in&nbsp;truth had really looked to the&nbsp;[Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\u201d \u2026 to be the&nbsp;lead agency to monitor for&nbsp;outbreaks and the like.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere&#8217;s a lot of work that I&nbsp;think the intelligence community&nbsp;needs to do to build up its&nbsp;capacity to monitor these sorts&nbsp;of threats,\u201d he added. \u201cIf this&nbsp;investigation expands not only&nbsp;to encompass the intelligence&nbsp;community, but really our national labs like Lawrence&nbsp;Livermore \u2014 and rely on allies\u2026 like France.&nbsp;France built the Institute of&nbsp;Virology&nbsp;\u2014 I\u2019m interested to see what the&nbsp;French have to share in terms of&nbsp;research and cooperation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A top Homeland Security adviser for former President Donald Trump on Sunday is confident there will be a definitive answer to the origins of the coronavirus in China \u2014 and &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":2313527,"comment_status":"close","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mo_disable_npp":"","fifu_image_url":"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/GetFile-595.aspx","fifu_image_alt":"Fmr.
