The flight attendant was left bloodied, and reportedly lost two teeth in the confrontation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Vyvianna Quinonez, the 28-year-old passenger accused of confronting the flight attendant, appears to have been set off around the time the flight was preparing to land, according to video footage, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2021\/05\/28\/southwest-video-punch-flight-attendant\/\"><span>reports<\/span><\/a><span> The Washington Post. The video shows a woman lunge up and punch the flight attendant in the face, causing the Southwest Airlines employee to begin bleeding.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"7.9391891891892\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Video obtained by CBS News shows the moment a Southwest Airlines flight attendant was punched by a passenger after asking her to keep her seat belt fastened during a flight from Sacramento to San Diego Sunday. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gQusevodYC\">https:\/\/t.co\/gQusevodYC<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oOYvPdwCFj\">pic.twitter.com\/oOYvPdwCFj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CBS News (@CBSNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBSNews\/status\/1398006148951838722?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 27, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Several seconds later, the confrontation still ongoing, a male passenger jumps between the two and demands the woman sit down, telling her, \u201cDon\u2019t you dare touch a flight attendant like that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Port of San Diego Harbor police officers boarded the plane after it landed at San Diego International Airport and arrested Quinonez. She was charged with felony battery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAccording to witnesses, an altercation between a passenger and a flight attendant had taken place during the flight. During the altercation, the passenger struck the flight attendant, causing serious injuries,\u201d said Port of San Diego Public Safety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Although there isn\u2019t evidence that alcohol played a role in the confrontation, the airline has decided against resuming alcohol service due to an increase in \u201cpassenger disruptions,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/travel\/article\/southwest-airlines-alcohol-service-canceled\/index.html\">according<\/a> to CNN, which reportedly obtained an internal Southwest Airlines memo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/05\/29\/business\/american-southwest-passengers-alcohol.html\"><span>The New York Times<\/span><\/a><span>, American Airlines decided Saturday against renewing alcohol service as well, saying in a memo that \u201c<\/span><span>alcohol can contribute to atypical behavior from customers onboard and we owe it to our crew not to potentially exacerbate what can already be a new and stressful situation for our customers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Shortly before Southwest circulated its memo, Southwest announced Quinonez was banned from flying with them again. A spokesperson for Southwest told <\/span><span>CNN<\/span><span> that the woman had \u201c<\/span><span>been advised this decision is final\u201d and cannot be appealed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A least one passenger told the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hUN4Cok3Rjw\"><span>KCRA-3<\/span><\/a><span> that she believed the flight attendant was partially to blame for the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cShe had made like three requests for [the flight attendant] to back up and she didn\u2019t,\u201d said the passenger.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The passenger told the news agency that she also had a negative experience with that flight attendant, but hers was over pretzels and masks.&nbsp;<span>\u201cAs I was putting one in my mouth, she was walking by and she said \u2018put your mask back on.\u2019 I just looked at my daughter and I was like, okay,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
