But his relationship with head coach Urban Meyer should help him in his quest to play in his first regular season game since 2012.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meyer was asked about Tebow\u2019s chances of making the team on Thursday, and he gave the typical coach-speak.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI wouldn\u2019t say weird. Awkward, maybe, the first practice, but it\u2019s one of 90 trying to make the team,\u201d Meyer said, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com\/2021\/05\/27\/urban-meyer-tim-tebows-one-of-90-trying-to-make-team-hes-improved\/\"><span>Pro Football Talk<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cHe has improved, it\u2019s all new for him. Tyler Bowen is doing a good job with our tight ends as a whole. O\u2019Shaughnessy and Ellefson in particular, if you watch a video last year and watch practice now, it\u2019s night and day. Those guys have really improved and the position is trending upward. They\u2019re doing a nice job.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>There has been some speculation regarding how Tebow will be used in Meyer\u2019s offense, with some believing there is a chance he could be used in the \u201cwildcat\u201d position.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThey think that Urban Meyer purposely brought Tim Tebow in \u2014 one to set the culture, the competitiveness \u2014 we know that he\u2019s a new NFL coach trying to set a tone for the culture,\u201d ESPN\u2019s Dianna Russini said on \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GetUpESPN\/status\/1397935606735458305\"><span>Get Up<\/span><\/a><span>\u201d. \u201cBut the bigger story I think \u2014 the most interesting part of this \u2014 is that there are those in the league who think Urban Meyer is bringing Tebow in to play quarterback. At that Taysom Hill role.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Hill has been utilized in a hybrid role with the New Orleans Saints for the past several years \u2014 as a running back, wide receiver, and at quarterback when called upon.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cTake a look at all his [Meyer\u2019s] different offenses,\u201d Russini continued. \u201cIt actually makes a lot of sense. So, yes. He may be on the roster as a tight end, but there may be more to this Tebow experiment than him just playing that position.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meyer was asked how he planned on utilizing Tebow in the Jaguars offense on Thursday.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI think it\u2019s one step at a time and see what happens,\u201d Meyer said, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/05\/28\/tim-tebow-catches-two-td-passes-from-trevor-lawrence-at-otas\/\"><span>The NY Post<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cBefore you start having those conversations, you\u2019ve got to feel where he\u2019s at on the depth chart, etc. Obviously, it\u2019s only been a couple of days. We have not had that conversation as an offensive staff yet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Tebow\u2019s signing has caused quite the stir throughout the NFL community, with many viewing it as simply a way to increase ticket sales.
