First, that Floyd\u2019s death was tragic. Second, that Floyd\u2019s death changed the course of modern American history.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Since May of 2020, activists have used the death of George Floyd to spurn a massive social movement that compelled Americans into adopting particular sociological narratives on race \u2014 especially critical race theory, which claims that white people are oppressors who benefit from \u201cstructural racism\u201d embedded into society to oppress racial minorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Here are five American institutions that changed dramatically as the result of George Floyd\u2019s death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Business<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWoke capitalism\u201d is now a defining feature of the American business landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To maintain relevance amid shifting cultural and political headwinds, Fortune 500 companies adopted policies to address racial justice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Such policies were frequently announced via passionate proclamations about dismantling purported structural racism. A <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thewaltdisneycompany.com\/resolve-in-a-time-of-unrest-a-message-to-fellow-employees\/\"><span>statement<\/span><\/a><span> from former Disney CEO Bob Iger, for example, said that \u201cfeelings of grief and anger cause us to confront the inscrutable idea that the lives of some are deemed less valuable \u2014 and less worthy of dignity, care and protection \u2014 than the lives of others.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In many instances, these commitments involved writing massive checks to activist groups \u2014 particularly Black Lives Matter and the NAACP. Firms as diverse as hotel startup AirBnB and beauty brand Glossier <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/business\/consumer\/want-know-where-all-those-corporate-donations-blm-are-going-n1225371\"><span>donated<\/span><\/a><span> hundreds of thousands of dollars to the organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Within their own ranks, companies adopted sweeping \u201cdiversity\u201d policies.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Coca-Cola, for instance, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/backlash-hits-coca-cola-after-accusations-of-anti-white-agenda\"><span>introduced<\/span><\/a><span> a training program that encouraged employees to \u201cbe less white.\u201d One slide in the training claimed that \u201cin the U.S. and other Western nations, white people are socialized to feel that they are inherently superior because they are white.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To foster the adoption of the new programs, the \u201cdiversity, equity, and inclusion consulting\u201d industry ballooned in size. Firms directed large portions of their billions in racial justice commitments toward these consulting companies \u2014 many of which also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/racial-consultants-took-ppp-loans-intended-for-struggling-businesses-despite-industrys-boom\"><span>took<\/span><\/a><span> Paycheck Protection Program loans from the federal government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Despite their outspoken promise to uphold racial justice at home, many of the same corporations enable widespread racial persecution <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/5-woke-corporations-who-condemned-georgia-while-still-doing-business-with-china\"><span>abroad<\/span><\/a><span>. Disney and Coca-Cola \u2014 as well as JPMorgan Chase, Delta Air Lines, and even Major League Baseball \u2014 do business with China, which necessitates playing by the Chinese government\u2019s rules and thereby overlooking the regime\u2019s human rights abuses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Education<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>The American education system \u2014 from kindergarten to college \u2014 has likewise been fundamentally transformed after the death of George Floyd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As with leading corporations, the change started with leading schools openly endorsing the sociological theories behind prevalent racial activism. Harvard University \u2014 the oldest and most prestigious postsecondary school in the United States \u2014 released a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/college.harvard.edu\/about\/news-announcements\/black-lives-matter\"><span>statement<\/span><\/a><span> plainly entitled \u201cBlack Lives Matter.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWords alone cannot do justice to the centuries of trauma and violence that racism has inflicted, and continues to inflict, upon Black people and communities in the United States,\u201d said the statement. \u201cWe commit to engaging more deeply in anti-racism work to support our work in admissions and financial aid and in hiring, professional development, and promotions within our office.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Academics \u2014 many of whom had already embraced critical race theory and other left-wing political ideologies \u2014 were emboldened to devote themselves toward proselytizing.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Among innumerable other examples is a recent \u201cwhite allyship\u201d <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article?id=17498\"><span>program<\/span><\/a><span> launched by the University of California-San Diego, which fixated upon \u201cthe work white people need to do.\u201d One resource promoted by the initiative claimed that people who believe \u201cBlue Lives Matter,\u201d use \u201cwhite evangelical rhetoric,\u201d and exhibit \u201crigid patriotism\u201d deserve the label \u201cWhite Terrorist.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, educators in government schools promulgated the same core ideologies as their peers in higher education. One school district in northern Virginia <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/virginia-school-district-shells-out-nearly-50000-for-survey-crafted-by-race-consultants\"><span>spent<\/span><\/a><span> nearly $50,000 on consultants to direct its new \u201canti-racist\u201d curriculum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Government<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Since the death of George Floyd, the American political landscape has been fully upended.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Most immediately, the nature of the 2020 elections radically shifted. Democrats claimed that Republicans were racist for failing to endorse their social agenda, and Republicans claimed that Democrats hated law enforcement officials and wanted to fundamentally remake the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, with President Biden\u2019s victory has come the institutionalization of the assumptions driving the activists\u2019 movement. On his first day in office, Biden signed an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/01\/20\/executive-order-advancing-racial-equity-and-support-for-underserved-communities-through-the-federal-government\/\"><span>executive order<\/span><\/a><span> embedding critical race theory into the fiber of every federal bureau: \u201cBecause advancing equity requires a systematic approach to embedding fairness in decision-making processes, executive departments and agencies (agencies) must recognize and work to redress inequities in their policies and programs that serve as barriers to equal opportunity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cEach agency must assess whether, and to what extent, its programs and policies perpetuate systemic barriers to opportunities and benefits for people of color and other underserved groups,\u201d said the measure. \u201cSuch assessments will better equip agencies to develop policies and programs that deliver resources and benefits equitably to all.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Local and state governments are following his lead. The Oregon Department of Education recently raided a program established to decrease absenteeism among disadvantaged students in order to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/oregon-department-of-education-drops-50000-on-nikole-hannah-jones-1619-project-webinars\"><span>pay<\/span><\/a><span> $50,000 for two talks from Nikole Hannah-Jones \u2014 the founder of The New York Times\u2019 1619 Project, which falsely argues that the United States was established to protect the institution of slavery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Religion<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Alongside other institutions, George Floyd\u2019s death transformed many Christian churches in the United States into activist groups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Progressive denominations attempted to syncretize social justice rhetoric with Christian theology.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) started a \u201cSpecial Committee on Racism Truth and Reconciliation\u201d that eventually <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcusa.org\/news\/2020\/6\/25\/statement-special-committee-racism-truth-and-recon\/\"><span>called<\/span><\/a><span> for \u201cwhite people to recognize their privilege in society and engage in the work of eliminating racism and racist acts against people of color.\u201d They also created yard <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcusa.org\/racial-justice-resources\/\"><span>signs<\/span><\/a><span> bearing the slogan \u201cPresbyterians Affirm Black Lives Matter\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meanwhile, the United Methodist Church quoted Boston University professor and leading critical race theorist Ibram X. Kendi in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedmethodistbishops.org\/files\/websites\/www\/pdfs\/cob+statement+on+racism+-+june+8+final.pdf\"><span>news release<\/span><\/a><span> about anti-racist reading material: \u201cBy not running from the books that pain us, we can allow them to transform us. I ran from antiracist books most of my life. But now I can\u2019t stop running after them \u2014 scrutinizing myself and my society, and in the process changing both.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On a more granular level, individual pastors and teachers began adopting the tenets of social justice ideology. A Twitter account entitled \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WokePreacherTV?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\"><span>Woke Preacher Clips<\/span><\/a><span>\u201d publishes footage of pastors\u2019 teachings that contradict historic Christianity. Among other beliefs, individuals featured on the page have framed Mary\u2019s life in terms of her <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WokePreacherTV\/status\/1397586630861631490\"><span>intersectionality<\/span><\/a><span> and alleged that God\u2019s creation of \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WokePreacherTV?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\"><span>male and female<\/span><\/a><span>\u201d merely refers to His creation of every person.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Law Enforcement<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>George Floyd\u2019s death led to a high degree of scrutiny toward police officers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Many prominent activists began issuing calls to \u201cdefund the police.\u201d Colin Kaepernick\u2019s publishing group, for example, endorsed an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article?id=16138\"><span>article<\/span><\/a><span> claiming that the goal to \u201creform the police\u201d usually means to \u201creward the police\u201d as they \u201cbrutalize and kill.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Accordingly, many cities began <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/these-5-cities-defunded-the-police-now-violent-crime-rates-are-soaring\"><span>diverting<\/span><\/a><span> funds away from public safety. New York City, Portland, Austin, Seattle, and Los Angeles cut funding for law enforcement and boosted budgets for social programs. Many city officials claimed that expanding government programs would serve to stop crime at its source.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, all of these cities experienced demonstrable increases in crime rates. In Portland, the number of shootings doubled and sometimes tripled in year-over-year statistics.
