The ruling comes after Angelina Jolie pleaded with the judge to have her kids testify in court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">\u201cAngelina Jolie&nbsp;criticized a judge who is deciding on child custody in her&nbsp;divorce&nbsp;with&nbsp;Brad Pitt, saying in a court filing that the judge refused to allow their children to testify,\u201d reported the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/jolie-pitt-divorce-3943c0aa3f1ccd6a196eb329deeb85e0\">Associated Press<\/a>. \u201cJolie, who has sought to disqualify Judge John Ouderkirk from the divorce case, said in the filing Monday that he declined to hear evidence she says is relevant to the children\u2019s safety and well-being before issuing a tentative ruling. The documents don\u2019t elaborate on what that evidence may be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">\u201cThe actress also said the judge \u2018has failed to adequately consider\u2019 a section of the California courts code, which says it is detrimental to the best interest of the child if custody is awarded to a person with a history of domestic violence,\u201d the report continued. \u201cHer filing did not give details about what it was referring to, but her lawyers submitted a document under seal in March that purportedly offers additional information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A source close to Brad Pitt praised the judge\u2019s ruling, saying the actor only wanted to spend more time with his kids.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMostly all [Brad] wanted was to see his kids and that was the whole point,\u201d a source told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/brad-pitt-granted-joint-custody-angelina-jolie\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrad has always been seeking the opportunity to have more time with his children and prioritized their well-being while the other side did everything to try and stop that,\u201d the source added.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, LGBT enthusiasts hailed the two parents as \u201cheroes\u201d for&nbsp;treating their five-year-old daughter as a boy&nbsp;after she insisted they see her as such. According to various&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/2014\/12\/79896\/shiloh-john-jolie-pitt-name-change\">leftist sites<\/a>, including&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.advocate.com\/arts-entertainment\/2014\/12\/20\/brad-pitt-and-angelina-jolie-support-their-kid-wearing-suits\">The Advocate<\/a>, the now-divorced couple reportedly supported their eight-year-old daughter Shiloh\u2019s \u201cdecision\u201d to both wear suits and be referred to by the name \u201cJohn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As far back as 2008, when Shiloh stood at age two, Pitt told Oprah that she insisted on being called \u201cJohn.\u201d His words were echoed in 2010 when Angelina Jolie told Vanity Fair&nbsp;<em>\u201c<\/em>[Shiloh] wants to be a boy, so we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys\u2019 everything. She thinks she\u2019s one of the brothers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, after being in a hotly contested divorce for two years, a source close to the family said it took a severe emotional toll on them. The divorce would continue for nearly another three years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe last two years of their lives have been very difficult and stressful,\u201d a source close to the couple&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/987893\/why-the-divorce-war-rages-on-what-brad-pitt-and-angelina-jolie-really-want-from-each-other-at-this-point\">told E! News<\/a> in November 2018. \u201cThe kids are aware of what\u2019s going on. They\u2019re old enough to get it\u201d and \u201cit hasn\u2019t been good for anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir family as they knew it was torn apart,\u201d the source continued, \u201cand it\u2019s going to take a lot of time and therapy to try and make sense of it all and get back on track.
