The first scenario involves a human coming into contact with an infected animal, and the second scenario involves a \u201claboratory accident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement does not expand on what exactly a \u201claboratory accident\u201d would entail. However, mere months ago, publicly entertaining any possible lab-based origin for the pandemic \u2014 such as through a leak of some kind \u2014 was well outside the Overton window.<\/p>\n<p>While the intelligence community hasn\u2019t come to a conclusion about the origins of the pandemic, Biden said that \u201ctwo elements in the IC\u201d lean toward animal-human transmission origins, while another element leans toward a lab-based origin. Each of these elements has a \u201clow or moderate confidence\u201d in the position, and \u201cthe majority of elements do not believe there is sufficient information to assess one to be more likely than the other,\u201d said Biden\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n<p>Biden said the United States will \u201ckeep working with like-minded partners around the world to press China to participate in a full, transparent, evidence-based international investigation.\u201d He also the intelligence community will report back to him in 90 days, with the goal of bringing \u201cus closer to a definitive conclusion\u201d on the origins of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
