Yeva\u2019s teammates help her across the line in the 4X1 relay. Yeva continues her fight with cancer and we continue to be amazed by her spirit!!\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.8034682080925\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">What a great moment to see Senior Yeva Klingbeil at today\u2019s girls track &amp; field meet. The radiation treatments which followed damaged her brainstem, but People noted, \u201cAfter weeks in the ICU and work with several specialists, she\u2019s regained some of her function, and the tumor has shrunk to half of its original size.\u201d The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailygazette.com\/2020\/10\/23\/klingbeil-inspires-cloutier-to-build-his-own-marathon\/\">Daily Gazette<\/a>reported last October that Yeva had to use a feeding tube for food and a ventilator at night.<\/p>\n<p>Rob Cloutier, Yeva\u2019s coach, wrote, \u201cYeva and her family pray her brain will continue healing and she\u2019ll be able to breathe, walk, and eat once again. While Yeva has gone through all of this and more, she has never stopped caring about her friends and family and has never given up&nbsp;hope of recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cKids have talked about Yeva\u2019s impact and just how her attitude about the whole deal is an example of being a hero. So \u2026 pretty cool. She\u2019s really a special kid, in that she\u2019s always had such a great attitude about everything. She\u2019s gained strength, she\u2019s able to walk. I challenged her a little bit. I wanted to finish this marathon with her, whatever that would look like. Even if it\u2019s the last few steps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cloutier concluded, \u201cI\u2019ve got a great senior class, and Yeva\u2019s a part of that. They\u2019ve really come together and rallied around this, but used it as an opportunity to be grateful for everything you have and an opportunity to be a part of something, right? That\u2019s kind of the idea behind this. It\u2019s a simple thing. However you want to jump in, you want to get involved, you want to donate \u2026 it\u2019s up to you. But here\u2019s an opportunity. It\u2019s been special. Obviously, we\u2019re living through a period of time where I think a lot of people struggle with hope, and things to look forward to.
