Josh Gottheimer, and was written a day before Biden meets with Jewish advocacy groups amid a rise in antisemitic hate crimes across the United states fueled by the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. It calls for a \u201cunited, all-of-government effort to combat rising antisemitism in this country,\u201d and urges Biden to name an \u201cexperienced and qualified United States Ambassador-at-Large to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter references comments made by Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/25\/marjorie-taylor-greene-holocaust-comparison-vaccine-covid-jeff-miller\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">compared mask requirements to the Holocaust<\/a> on multiple occasions. (Ed Jones\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It also references comments made by Democratic Reps. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AOC\/status\/1393673695433043976\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/coribush\/status\/1395763466623930374\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cori Bush<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?511625-1\/house-passes-comprehensive-debt-collection-improvement-act-215-207\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rashida Tlaib<\/a>, who have all stated that Israel is an apartheid state. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/13\/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-criticizes-joe-biden-israel-right-to-defend-itself\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: AOC Goes After Biden For Saying Israel \u2018Has A Right To Defend Itself\u2019)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The letter \u201creject[s] comments from Members of Congress accusing Israel of being an \u2018apartheid state\u2019 and committing \u2018act[s] of terrorism,\u201d adding that such statements are \u201cantisemitic at their core and contribute to a climate that is hostile to many Jews.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must never forget that less than eighty years ago, within the lifetime of our parents and grandparents, six million people were murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust because they were Jews,\u201d the letter says. \u201cIsrael has long provided the Jewish people with a homeland in which they can be safe after facing centuries of persecution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter was also signed by Democratic Reps.
