The total price of the contract was $36,900 and included the following:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>2 equity consultants, billed for 23 hours of \u201ccoaching and prep\u201d work<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Four 3.5 hour workshops spanning 2 days<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>One 1 hour keynote presentation<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>One 2.25 hour community workshop&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>According to the contract (viewable below), all services would be rendered via zoom, and would transpire across 3 calendar days.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-227677\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Bill.jpg\" alt width=\"783\" height=\"553\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/05\/Bill.jpg 783w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/05\/Bill-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/05\/Bill-768x542.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 783px) 100vw, 783px\" \/><\/div>\n<p><span>The first stunning detail is that the billed rate for the \u201cEquity Consultants\u201d was listed at $550 per hour, which did not apply toward the cost of the Zoom sessions themselves. The sessions would cost an additional $2-5k each. For comparison, the median hourly wage for a neurosurgeon in the US is $299.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The second alarming detail, buried on the \u201cabout\u201d page for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegeminigroupllc.com\/mentor-team\"><span>The Gemini Group<\/span><\/a><span>, reveals that the consulting company appears to consist of only two persons, consultants (and wildly impressive swindlers), Christina and Dante. Aside from the effort entailed in preparing a Powerpoint and dialing in for the Zoom chats, it is unclear what overhead costs are accounted for to explain this exorbitant price tag. How the administrators of Douglas County School District will justify this price tag, which must ultimately be paid by the community, remains undetermined.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Fortunately, parents and stakeholders can see clips of the training <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=093Atq55g6Q\"><span>here<\/span><\/a><span> to determine for themselves whether the pearls of wisdom The Gemini Group offers are worth the hefty price tag.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A brief review of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegeminigroupllc.com\/\"><span>The Gemini Group<\/span><\/a><span> website also gives a taste of what this highly specialized training may include. Emblazoned on the splash page is the first of many nonsensical platitudes, including: <\/span><span>\u201cEquity is the umbrella under which diversity and inclusion reside.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The description for the \u201cImplicit Bias Training\u201d offered confirms what many parents may already suspect, that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegeminigroupllc.com\/\"><span>The Gemini Group<\/span><\/a><span> is firmly based in Critical Race Theory. On their site they state that \u201cevery day, we see and feel the impacts of implicit bias, both individually and institutionally.\u201d \u201cSince everyone has it,\u201d they assert, \u201cand most institutions were built on it\u201d (again, an assertion directly out of Critical Race Theory), the specialized training \u201cprovides participants with the understanding of where it comes from, how it can be recognized, and how detrimental impacts can be minimized.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The \u201cEquity Training\u201d description also includes telltale signs of critical theory influence, promising to help emplyees \u201cunderstand..systemic racism and the history of racial inequity, [and] learn how to utilize an equity lens to recognize and mitigate racism and any other forms of discrimination and oppression in the workforce.\u201d With this approach, they promise, \u201cparticipants will also understand intersectionality.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegeminigroupllc.com\/\"><span>The Gemini Group<\/span><\/a><span> is one of many organizations that have sprung up in the past decade advertising pricey cures for racism and \u201cinequity,\u201d despite scant evidence supporting the efficacy of such teachings, and growing evidence that \u201cdiversity\u201d training may <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/2012\/03\/diversity-training-doesnt-work\"><span>exacerbate<\/span><\/a><span> racial and gender divisions in workplaces.
