There is no indication the image is connected to the 2021 Israel-Hamas conflict.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The picture shows a line of warships, one of which displays the Turkish flag, cruising through the water while a squadron of helicopters fly above. In the caption, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1242125619575444&amp;set=a.106306523157365\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">May 18 Facebook post<\/a> alleges, \u201cTURKEY MILITARY JUST THEY LAND IN PALESTINE\u2026.. More victory!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas had a violent 11-day conflict earlier this month in which at least 248 people in Hamas-controlled Gaza and 13 people in Israel were killed, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/gaza-truce-between-israel-hamas-begins-mediated-by-egypt-2021-05-20\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reuters<\/a> reported. Turkey, as well as some other countries in the region, have condemned Israel\u2019s airstrikes on Gaza, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/05\/14\/world\/middleeast\/israel-arab.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact didn\u2019t find any evidence the photo in question depicts Turkish military ships and helicopters as they \u201cland in Palestine\u201d in May. A reverse image search instead revealed the picture dates back over a decade, well before this month\u2019s Israel-Hamas conflict started. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/05\/25\/fact-check-image-show-an-israeli-soldier-kneeling-palestinian-child\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Image Show An Israeli Soldier Kneeling On A Palestinian Child\u2019s Neck?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The picture appears in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aberfoylesecurity.com\/?p=1176\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2008 article<\/a> about Turkey\u2019s weapons industry on the website of Aberfoyle International Security, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aberfoylesecurity.com\/?page_id=17\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">describes itself<\/a> as a \u201cToronto based consultancy specializing in the analysis of security issues in the Islamic world.\u201d It can also be found in a 2012 article, titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hurriyetdailynews.com\/turkey-capable-of-building-own-navy-20058\">Turkey capable of building own navy<\/a>,\u201d published by the English-language Turkish news outlet Hurriyet Daily News, which describes it as a \u201cfile photo\u201d of \u201cTurkish naval ships\u201d and as an \u201cAA Photo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gettyimages.dk\/detail\/news-photo\/naval-ships-are-seen-during-the-second-part-of-news-photo\/687307180?adppopup=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Photos<\/a> that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysabah.com\/turkey\/2019\/05\/10\/turkish-military-seeks-sea-change-in-naval-drills\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">resemble<\/a> the Facebook image have been taken during Turkish military exercises in the past.
