Rand Paul.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Capitol Hill police are investigating the package and the threat, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/rand-paul-death-threat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The picture on top of the envelope shows a wounded Paul wearing a neck brace, arm cast, and leaning on a crutch, reported Fox News.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"4.2056074766355\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FoxNews?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@FoxNews<\/a> has obtained this image of the death threat sent to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RandPaul?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RandPaul<\/a>\u2018s home along with a package filled with white powder. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WDRBNews?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WDRBNews<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GpA4CevBS4\">pic.twitter.com\/GpA4CevBS4<\/a><\/p>\n<p> \u2014 Lawrence Smith (@LASmithReports) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LASmithReports\/status\/1397180906864103426?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 25, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Underneath the illustration, a caption reads, \u201cI\u2019ll finish what your neighbor started you motherf\u2014\u2013.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/11\/18\/woman-arrested-allegedly-threatening-decapitate-senator-susan-collins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Woman Arrested After Allegedly Threatening To Decapitate Sen. Susan Collins)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The FBI\u2019s Louisville field office said it is \u201cworking with the Warren County Sheriff\u2019s Office and the Capitol Police by providing forensic and technical assistance,\u201d Fox News reported. The Capitol Police also said they were investigating the package.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"6.8932806324111\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I take these threats immensely seriously. As a repeated target of violence, it is reprehensible that Twitter allows C-list celebrities to encourage violence against me and my family. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/e1rQ6uwPdf\">https:\/\/t.co\/e1rQ6uwPdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p> \u2014 Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RandPaul\/status\/1396973910994915328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 24, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI take these threats immensely seriously,\u201d Paul <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RandPaul\/status\/1396973910994915328\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote<\/a> Tuesday in a Twitter post. \u201cAs a repeated target of violence, it is reprehensible that Twitter allows C-list celebrities to encourage violence against me and my family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust this weekend Richard Marx called for violence against me and now we receive this despicable powder filled letter,\u201d Paul said in a statement reported by Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>Marx, a contemporary and pop-rock musical artist, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/richardmarx\/status\/1396519422043385863\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tweeted<\/a> Sunday, stating, \u201cI\u2019ll say it again: If I ever meet Rand Paul\u2019s neighbor I\u2019m going to hug him and buy him as many drinks as he can consume.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"5.5813953488372\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I\u2019ll say it again: If I ever meet Rand Paul\u2019s neighbor I\u2019m going to hug him and buy him as many drinks as he can consume.<\/p>\n<p> \u2014 Richard Marx (@richardmarx) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/richardmarx\/status\/1396519422043385863?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 23, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Marx\u2019s tweet was alluding to a 2017 incident in which Paul was assaulted by his neighbor. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/01\/30\/rand-paul-neighbor-attack-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(FLASHBACK: Rand Paul Says He Feared For His Life When Neighbor Slammed Him Into Ground)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rene Boucher, a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/11\/05\/neighbors-say-rand-pauls-attacker-was-an-avowed-socialist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">vocally socialist<\/a> neighbor of Paul, attacked him in 2017 over an alleged lawn dispute. Boucher severely injured Paul and broke five of his ribs. Doctors also had to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2019\/08\/05\/rand-paul-removed-lung-assault-1448144\">remove<\/a> a portion of the senator\u2019s lung.<\/p>\n<p>Boucher eventually pleaded guilty in March 2018 to attacking a member of Congress, causing personal injury. He received a sentence of 30 days imprisonment followed by a year of supervised release.
