Wade will precipitate a seismic movement to reform the Supreme Court,\u201d Democratic Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/554843-democrats-roe-v-wade-blow-would-fuel-expanding-supreme-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> The Hill on Monday. The Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/17\/supreme-court-abortion-case-mississippi-roe-wade-dobbs-jackson-womens-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> on May 17 that it would hear the case Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization, which addresses Mississippi\u2019s ban on abortions after 15 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Upholding the Mississippi law \u201cwill inevitably fuel and drive an effort to expand the Supreme Court if this activist majority betrays fundamental constitutional principles,\u201d Blumenthal continued.<\/p>\n<p>The Connecticut Democrat has repeatedly changed his mind on court-packing, saying that \u201cnothing is off the table\u201d when Republicans <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/19\/democrats-pack-supreme-court-trump-nominates-ruth-ginsburg-seat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">confirmed<\/a> Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court in October 2020. He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2021\/05\/why-its-unlikely-democrats-would-pack-the-supreme-court-even-if-roe-were-overturned\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> on May 18 that Democrats should only \u201capproach the issue of expanding the Court with extreme caution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democratic Rhode Island Sen. (Photo by Drew Angerer\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>After opposing court-packing during the Democratic primaries, President Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/22\/joe-biden-court-packing-ginsburg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">refused<\/a> to answer <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/29\/answer-question-biden-refuses-court-packing-debate-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">questions<\/a> during the 2020 general election about whether or not he supported adding seats to the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>The president <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/09\/biden-scotus-court-packing-commission\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> in April a commission that would explore adding seats to the Supreme Court and other potential changes.<\/p>\n<p>Congressional Democrats introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/15\/democrats-joe-biden-supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bills<\/a> in the House and the Senate that would increase the size of the Supreme Court from nine to 13 justices. The body has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/about-the-white-house\/our-government\/the-judicial-branch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">composed<\/a> of nine justices since 1869.<\/p>\n<p>New York Democratic Rep.
