Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/GetFile-95.aspx\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Syndicated talk-show host-turned-podcaster Michael Savage told Newsmax on Friday that he plans to sue the federal government next week to prevent his removal from a trustee board that oversees the Presidio, the&nbsp;onetime&nbsp;military base in San Francisco that has become a national park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is based solely&nbsp;<span data-ms=\"1621647503944\" id=\"transcript1621647503944\">on political differences, as&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647504511\" id=\"transcript1621647504511\">you said, rather than job&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647507180\" id=\"transcript1621647507180\">performance or alleged acts of&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647508849\" id=\"transcript1621647508849\">malfeasance,\u201d said Savage, also known as Michael Wiener, as he spoke about the action to remove him. \u201cAnd I will take it&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647511284\" id=\"transcript1621647511284\">to the federal courts on Monday&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647512419\" id=\"transcript1621647512419\">because they bullied me by&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647514855\" id=\"transcript1621647514855\">sending me a message saying&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647515522\" id=\"transcript1621647515522\">\u2018Resign or we fire you.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ms=\"1621647515522\">&#8220;Well, I&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647519259\" id=\"transcript1621647519259\">sent the note saying I&#8217;m not&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647520961\" id=\"transcript1621647520961\">resigning because the only way&nbsp;<\/span>to replace someone on this&nbsp;<span data-ms=\"1621647523496\" id=\"transcript1621647523496\">board is if they resigned.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ms=\"1621647523496\">He continued,&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647526266\" id=\"transcript1621647526266\">\u201cThe fact is that the president&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647527868\" id=\"transcript1621647527868\">may not remove any appointee to&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647530270\" id=\"transcript1621647530270\">an independent regulatory&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647531872\" id=\"transcript1621647531872\">agency, except for reasons that&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647533874\" id=\"transcript1621647533874\">Congress has provided by law,&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647534507\" id=\"transcript1621647534507\">and there are no reasons we&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647535075\" id=\"transcript1621647535075\">looked up.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ms=\"1621647526266\" id=\"transcript1621647526266\">Savage, who the Biden administration on Thursday demanded resign by the end of the day, said he would&nbsp;seek an injunction Monday in federal court based on the 1930s case <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oyez.org\/cases\/1900-1940\/295us602\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Humphrey&#8217;s&nbsp;Executor v. United States<\/a>, in which an appointee of Herbert Hoover successfully challenged a&nbsp;removal from the Federal Trade Commission by then-President Franklin Roosevelt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ms=\"1621647526266\" id=\"transcript1621647526266\">\u201cRoosevelt fired somebody because he wouldn&#8217;t resign,\u201d Savage said. \u201cAnd so the&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647554494\" id=\"transcript1621647554494\">guy took it to the Supreme Court&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647555195\" id=\"transcript1621647555195\">and won. Roosevelt was very&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647555896\" id=\"transcript1621647555896\">angry. And it was all politics.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Savage, one of three Trump appointees to the Presidio Trust, says he was being removed because he insisted that the board expand a military museum in the 1,200-acre park, at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge, and highlight Armed Forces history at the location, including through a national cemetery.<\/p>\n<p><span data-ms=\"1621647570243\" id=\"transcript1621647570243\">Said Savage:&nbsp;\u201cNot only did they cut&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647574347\" id=\"transcript1621647574347\">off my email an hour ago&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647574915\" id=\"transcript1621647574915\">without telling me. And I said,&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647578919\" id=\"transcript1621647578919\">\u2018Who did this? It wasn&#8217;t the&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647580320\" id=\"transcript1621647580320\">federal agency that said they&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647582255\" id=\"transcript1621647582255\">were going to fire me. It was&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647582923\" id=\"transcript1621647582923\">someone inside the trust. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd&nbsp;they expunged the minutes from&nbsp;<span data-ms=\"1621647588528\" id=\"transcript1621647588528\">the last board meeting where I&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647590931\" id=\"transcript1621647590931\">said I have found about $2.5&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647592933\" id=\"transcript1621647592933\">million in funding for the&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647593500\" id=\"transcript1621647593500\">military exhibits. These&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647597437\" id=\"transcript1621647597437\">individuals did not want the&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647598071\" id=\"transcript1621647598071\">military exhibits to be&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647600941\" id=\"transcript1621647600941\">expanded. They want to turn it&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647603143\" id=\"transcript1621647603143\">into the Woodstock West. They&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647604344\" id=\"transcript1621647604344\">want any reference to the&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647604945\" id=\"transcript1621647604945\">military gone from the&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647608448\" id=\"transcript1621647608448\">Presidio, which is an old Army&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647609049\" id=\"transcript1621647609049\">base.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Savage was informed of the Biden&nbsp;administration&#8217;s demand for his resignation via a letter from White House Office of Presidential Personnel Director Catherine Russell. His biography has been removed from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presidio.gov\/presidio-trust\/about\/board-and-executive-team\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Presidio Trust\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat a great, great place this&nbsp;<span data-ms=\"1621647657998\" id=\"transcript1621647657998\">is,\u201d Savage said referring to the Presidio. \u201cIt&#8217;s not supposed to be a&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647659366\" id=\"transcript1621647659366\">hippie&nbsp;Woodstock. That&#8217;s nice.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647661401\" id=\"transcript1621647661401\">If you want to play golf and go&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647663003\" id=\"transcript1621647663003\">to a hotel, wonderful. It&#8217;s&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647663603\" id=\"transcript1621647663603\">supposed to be self-supporting.&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647666606\" id=\"transcript1621647666606\">But the board was created&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ms=\"1621647668441\" id=\"transcript1621647668441\">to oversee this.
