The relatively-isolated incidents caused <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iii.org\/fact-statistic\/facts-statistics-civil-disorders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">billions of dollars in damage<\/a>, resulted in <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/07\/30\/24-people-killed-george-floyd-riots-protests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">at least 20 deaths<\/a> and seemingly hurt Democrats electorally.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"8.2768361581921\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">New data piece:<\/p>\n<p>A study found peaceful BLM\/George Floyd protests last year were correlated with increases in vote share for Joe Biden. Elliott Morris (@gelliottmorris) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gelliottmorris\/status\/1395376081109192709?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 20, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.economist.com\/graphic-detail\/2021\/05\/22\/rioting-amid-demonstrations-for-racial-justice-may-have-helped-donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statistical analysis by The Economist<\/a> compared President Joe Biden\u2019s vote share in precincts surrounding Kenosha, Wisconsin, to what they should have been based on his vote share in comparable precincts based on voting history, demographics and density.<\/p>\n<p>Kenosha was the site of widespread rioting after the police shooting of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/13\/officer-shot-paralyzed-jacob-blake-reinstated-without-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacob Blake<\/a>, a black man armed with a knife who left the incident paralyzed. The rioting resulted in the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/05\/kyle-rittenhouse-pleads-not-guilty-charges-homicide-kenosha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fatal shooting of two individuals<\/a> by Kyle Rittenhouse, a teen who has been charged with intentional homicide. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/06\/washington-post-jacob-blake-unarmed-kenosha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Washington Post Forced To Correct Article, Tweet Describing Jacob Blake As \u2018Unarmed\u2019 Despite Evidence Showing He Had Knife)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The analysis found that Biden\u2019s vote share in Kenosha was substantially lower than it should have been if all other factors were held constant.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s vote share outside a 30-mile radius of Kenosha was consistent with expectations, but it dwindled within the 30-mile circle as precincts got closer to the city. At the center, he underperformed expectations by 2.4 points. He underperformed in Kenosha County by a bigger margin than any other of the state\u2019s 50 most populous counties.<\/p>\n<p>The piece noted that areas associated with bigger, peaceful protests saw Biden overperform, <a href=\"https:\/\/papers.ssrn.com\/sol3\/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3809877\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">citing a recent study<\/a> from Yale and University College London.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/11\/04\/house-democrats-disaster-election-night\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">drastically underperformed<\/a> expectations in 2020, particularly in the House of Representatives.
