Andrew Cuomo\u2019s close associates and his brother during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, according to people familiar with the matter,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/criminal-probe-of-andrew-cuomo-administration-broadens-to-covid-19-testing-issues\">Fox News reported Thursday<\/a>. \u201cThe review of the testing marks an expansion of the probe that the investigators, based in the U.S. attorney\u2019s office for the Eastern District of New York, opened in February to look at how the&nbsp;Cuomo&nbsp;administration handled COVID-19 in nursing homes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProsecutors have recently contacted and scheduled interviews with officials in the Democratic governor\u2019s office who worked on the testing program, some of the people said,\u201d according to Fox.<\/p>\n<p>As the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-cuomo-ignored-nursing-home-requests-for-covid-tests-gave-them-to-connected-dems-instead\">Daily Wire reported<\/a> earlier this year, \u201cHigh-level members of the state Department of Health were directed last year by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker to conduct prioritized coronavirus testing on the governor\u2019s relatives as well as influential people with ties to the administration\u2026Members of Cuomo\u2019s family including his brother, his mother, and at least one of his sisters were also tested by top health department officials \u2014 some several times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-cuomo-ignored-nursing-home-requests-for-covid-tests-gave-them-to-connected-dems-instead\">appears many of those requests<\/a> were given priority over pleas from nursing homes that desperately needed to know whether patients returning to their facilities were putting other residents at risk. Despite direct requests, the New York Department of Health provided only enough COVID-19 testing kits for three nursing facilities, per the New York Post.<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo is also facing an impeachment inquiry, and it, too, will expand to focus on Cuomo\u2019s handling of COVID-19 testing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe&nbsp;impeachment investigation into New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo will also examine whether members of the Democratic governor\u2019s family were given priority access to coronavirus tests in the first weeks of the pandemic last year,\u201d according to a \u201ckey lawmaker\u201d who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/cuomo-impeachment-inquiry-to-look-at-family-covid-19-testing-11616701938?mod=article_inline\">spoke to the Wall Street Journal<\/a>. \u201cState Assemblyman Charles Lavine, a Democrat from Nassau County, said in an interview on Thursday that the allocation of coronavirus tests last year \u2018will certainly receive some attention\u201d in the inquiry he oversees as head of the chamber\u2019s Judiciary Committee.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for the governor told Fox News that Cuomo went \u201c\u2018above and beyond\u2019 to get people tested in the early days of the pandemic to identify cases and prevent the spread of the virus. \u2018Among those we assisted were members of the general public, including legislators, reporters, state workers, and their families.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
