This person is a MedBoard for Mental Wellness waiting to happen. What a waste of military resources and funding!\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.8375451263538\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">So Andrew Calvert is a chaplain on active duty in the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/3rdSFAB?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@3rdSFAB<\/a> and he equates trans troops to flat-earthers. <\/p>\n<p>He cannot be trusted to support soldiers for another minute <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SecArmy?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@SecArmy<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TransBanRepeal?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TransBanRepeal<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OwDqKFPerf\">pic.twitter.com\/OwDqKFPerf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Naveed Shah \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@ArmyofNaveed) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ArmyofNaveed\/status\/1353881783377551363?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 26, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"o-articleBody__text a-body1 element element-paragraph\">As the Army Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/news\/pentagon-congress\/2021\/05\/12\/army-major-fights-punishment-for-anti-transgender-social-media-posts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> regarding the investigation:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p><em>An Army Regulation 15-6 investigation concluded that Calvert violated Army policy on discrimination and prohibitions against online misconduct, as well as a Defense Department directive regulating political speech by active-duty troops, according to an appeal written by attorney Michael Berry of First Liberty Institute, which is backing Calvert.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Army investigator recommended Calvert receive a General Officer Memorandum of Reprimand for his social media conduct, which III Corps commander Lt. Gen. Robert White signedApril 22.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Calvert filed an appeal to the reprimand earlier in May, and he is being represented by the First Liberty Institute.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChaplain Calvert is a decorated soldier with an exemplary record. He faces having his career ruined simply because he expressed his religious views on his personal Facebook page,\u201d said Mike Berry, general counsel at First Liberty Institute, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2021\/05\/12\/2228433\/0\/en\/Highly-Decorated-Army-Chaplain-Appeals-Career-Ending-Punishment-for-Expressing-His-Religious-Beliefs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in a press release.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThroughout Chaplain Calvert\u2019s military career, he has personified selfless service and sacrifice, and a desire to provide for the spiritual needs of those under his care.
