One of the 60-day reviews targets \u201csupplier diversity\u201d when it comes to military contracts. The other seeks to \u201cimprove diverse representation\u201d when naming Navy and Marine Corps assets.<\/p>\n<p>Kessmeier\u2019s Strategic Planning Team will also seek to \u201cremove potential barriers to diversity,\u201d \u201cimprove the pace of diversity and the strength of the applicant pool, while remaining cognizant of the merit system principles,\u201d and possibly suggest changes in service member grooming policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnother 90-day review will \u201cexamine an appropriate authoritative data environment for DEI,\u201d according to the memo. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/06\/army-generals-diversity-women-combat-officer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Woke Warriors? The Department of the Navy is committed to rooting out inequities that have sometimes kept that promise out of reach for underserved and underrepresented communities,\u201d Kessmeier is quoted as saying in the release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognize the need to understand the barriers that face our workforce, and we need to ensure our policies and processes are constructed to support diversity, equity, and inclusion for every officer, Sailor, Marine and civilian.
