As The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/supreme-court-takes-up-mississippi-abortion-case-that-could-limit-roe-v-wade\">Daily Wire reported Monday<\/a>, the Supreme Court had the option of taking up several issues associated with the case, but will only consider whether \u201call pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Fifth Circuit struck down the law \u00a0\u201cusing Roe v. Wade as an excuse, claiming that the Supreme Court has \u2018established (and affirmed and re-affirmed) a woman\u2019s right to choose an abortion before viability,\u2019 and that states may only regulate and restrict abortion \u2018prior to viability so long as they do not impose an undue burden on the woman\u2019s right\u2026[T]hey may not ban abortions,&#8217;\u201d The Daily Wire noted.<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo, clearly agitated by the Supreme Court\u2019s decision to consider the Constitutionality of abortion-related legislation at all, claimed on his prime-time program that the law itself was motivated by a \u201cfar-right, white-fright vote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not about science or consensus,\u201d Cuomo said.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s about dividing lines, legislating to the far-right white-fright vote, flooding the zone with 536 bills that abridge a woman\u2019s right to control her own body, in 46 states. It\u2019s just like voting rights in one way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then accused pro-lifers of using \u201ctheir religion or righteousness\u201d to make law.<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo regularly accuses Republicans of allowing racism to dictate their agenda. Back in February, he suggested that Sen. Cuomo (@ChrisCuomo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChrisCuomo\/status\/1359586566885285892?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 10, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Pro-lifers were quick to challenge Cuomo\u2019s suggestion that opposing abortion is somehow \u201canti-science\u201d on social media, daring Cuomo to speak to a panel of experts about 15-week-old fetuses or even 22-week-old fetuses, who are considered viable.<\/p>\n<p>Leftists are agitated over Monday\u2019s Supreme Court grant of appeal, suggesting that the case could mean the end of \u201cRoe v. Wade,\u201d even though the appeal does not cover any issue outside of whether a state can, in fact, even make a law abridging the right to privacy in obtaining an abortion before viability.
