Crowder and his attorney, Bill Richmond, said that since the start of the year, YouTube has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/youtube-re-monetizes-steven-crowder-over-a-year-after-it-banned-ads-on-his-content\">again<\/a> demonetized \u201cLowder With Crowder\u201d videos and issued two hard strikes against the account, both of which resulted in temporary suspensions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of last Thursday, May 14, my lawyer Bill Richmond and I have filed a notice of a lawsuit against YouTube and are seeking an injunction to prevent them, to stop them from currently deplatforming us,\u201d Crowder said. \u201cWe\u2019ve officially sent a notice of a lawsuit. Very different level \u2013 this is the big one, boys and girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crowder\u2019s account was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/steven-crowders-youtube-account-locked-demonetized-crowder-hints-action-weve-got-something-for-them\">locked<\/a>, demonetized, and given a strike warning in March for allegedly spreading misinformation about the 2020 election. Crowder denied ever making any false claims on Monday\u2019s show and noted that YouTube\u2019s justification lacked a specific charge against Crowder.<\/p>\n<p>Crowder said the first and second hard strikes against his channel were similarly vague, leaving the host and his attorney guessing at what could have triggered YouTube\u2019s actions. The first strike came over an anniversary video of \u201c15 days to slow the spread.\u201d YouTube <a href=\"https:\/\/www.louderwithcrowder.com\/youtube-removes-crowder-video\">claimed<\/a> that Crowder violated its policy against spreading COVID misinformation.<\/p>\n<p>The second hard strike <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/youtube-places-ban-on-steven-crowder-over-makhia-bryant-video-crowder-look-what-youtube-does-allow\">came<\/a> over Crowder\u2019s commentary on a police shooting in Columbus, Ohio, in April. An officer shot and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/video-emerges-of-makhia-bryant-before-shooting\">killed<\/a> black teen Ma\u2019Khia Bryant to stop her from stabbing another girl. YouTube accused Crowder of \u201creveling in or mocking\u201d Bryant\u2019s death. Crowder denied mocking Bryant Monday. Richmond noted that even had Crowder violated the policy, \u201cLouder With Crowder\u201d is a comedy show and, as such, is exempted under YouTube\u2019s policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis really isn\u2019t just about us. We can find ways that we can broadcast to you,\u201d Crowder said about his lawsuit. \u201cBut this is the world\u2019s most powerful company \u2013 arguably, when you look at YouTube, Google, Alphabet \u2013 and they make sure that they ghost you where people cannot find, not us, but the point of view.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn other words, in that same point in time when we\u2019re talking specifically about the Columbus issue, you can go to Stephen Colbert, you can go to CNN, they\u2019re all uploading at that same time with information that we know to be incorrect,\u201d Crowder continued. \u201cTo not allow half the country, half the world ever to correct those mistruths under some misguided and, frankly, not outlined policy \u2026 the last thing I want to be doing is doing a lawsuit with Google and YouTube for crying out loud. They could squash my nuts into oblivion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richmond added: \u201cWhat [YouTube is] saying is these ideas are so dangerous that we can\u2019t address them or rebut them, we can\u2019t criticize them, we just have to extinguish the opinions entirely. We have to eradicate these opinions from the planet because we can\u2019t deal with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the reality,\u201d Richmond continued, \u201cthis is a comedy show that takes on important issues. Commentary, politics, issues that are facing everyone in every part of the nation and the world, and we have to be able to talk about them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>YouTube did not immediately respond to The Daily Wire\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Crowder\u2019s lawsuit against YouTube is the second Big Tech company he has launched a legal battle with this year. In February, the conservative comedian announced that he was suing Facebook for censoring his content without justification, among other issues. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-steven-crowder-announces-lawsuit-against-facebook\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"24.43729903537\">\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019re going after Facebook based on its own words and its own promises,\u201d Richmond explained. Facebook, he said, claimed they were no longer suppressing certain speech, however, continued to do so.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As an example of what he said was speech suppression, Crowder pointed to his election livestream that was apparently cut off. The stream, as noted by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/steven-crowders-election-coverage-drew-millions-of-views-competed-with-major-networks\">The Daily Wire<\/a>,\u00a0amassed a stunning 8.1 million views.
