Together, the president and First Lady Jill Biden paid $157,414 in federal income taxes, $28,794 in Delaware\u2019s state taxes and $433 in Virginia, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/2021.05.17-POTUS-Redacted-2020-Federal-and-State-Returns.pdf\">tax returns<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"PD IF\" readability=\"7\">\n<div id=\":bsx.co\" class=\"JL\" readability=\"9\">\n<p><span id=\":bt2.co\" class=\"tL8wMe EMoHub\" dir=\"ltr\">Comparatively, the president made over $16.5 million from 2017 to 2019, according to Bloomberg.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Despite Biden\u2019s drop in income, he paid 25.9% for the federal tax and still earned enough to be included under his proposal to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/15\/joe-biden-administration-major-tax-hike-reports-spending-economic-plan\/\">increase<\/a> taxes for the wealthiest Americans. Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff also earned enough to have paid more under Biden\u2019s proposal, as the couple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/2021.05.17-VPOTUS-Redacted-2020-Federal-and-State-Returns.pdf\">reported a federal<\/a> adjusted gross income of $1,695,225.<\/p>\n<p>The vice president and her husband reported earning $3,018,127 in taxable income for 2019, according to Bloomberg.<\/p>\n<p>Much of this income came from Emhoff\u2019s work as a lawyer, according to Bloomberg. White House press secretary took a dig at the former president on Monday when she noted the documents would be released and \u201cshould be expected by every president of the <span id=\"2260621a-b757-11eb-9a4f-fa163eb8fd71\">United States.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, the President released his 2020 federal income tax return, continuing an almost uninterrupted tradition.
