Kevin Stitt hosted a cookout near a billboard criticizing his support for the state\u2019s agriculture industry. Stitt posted a picture of the sign on Wednesday saying, \u201cit looks like a great spot to grill some burgers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The governor manned the grill while wearing an apron labeled \u201cbeef\u2026it\u2019s what\u2019s for dinner\u201d while voicing his support for meat producers.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Looks like a great spot to grill some burgers\u2026 \ud83d\udc40 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NDGW7MGVc0\">pic.twitter.com\/NDGW7MGVc0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Governor Kevin Stitt (@GovStitt) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovStitt\/status\/1392478746318446596?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 12, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The nonprofit organization PETA had a billboard placed west of Interstate 35 that calls Stitt a meathead and encourages passersby to go vegan for life. This comes after Stitt declared a week in March as \u201cMeat All Week\u201d. The idea of an Oklahoma meat week in March was originally a jab at Colorado Gov. Jared Polis\u2019s meat-free day on March 20 to encourage residents to opt for an eco- and animal-friendly alternative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know we\u2019re just having a lot of fun out here. We\u2019re supporting our agricultural industry here in Oklahoma. You know agriculture is such a huge part of our state. It actually employs 110,000 Oklahomans,\u201d noted Stitt.<\/p>\n<p>The governor explained that he was just excited to be out supporting the agricultural industry while having a little fun at PETA\u2019s expense.
