Tom Cotton, called the \u201cIvory Tower Tax Act of 2021,\u201d that would tax wealthy schools\u2019 endowments at a rate of 1% and use the funds to support training for working-class jobs, the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/05\/13\/psaki-teaching-about-critical-race-theory-is-responsible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Post<\/a> reported. The reporter mentioned Cotton\u2019s opposition to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/11\/oklahoma-city-school-board-critical-race-theory-ban-kevin-stitt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">critical race theory<\/a> and the 1619 project.<\/p>\n<p>Critical race theory seeks to teach children to view every interaction through the lens of race and teaches that racial injustice impacts every part of society. The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/09\/1619-project-nikole-hannah-jones-university-oregon-zoom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1619 project<\/a>, which has been <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/11\/30\/historians-new-york-times-1619\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">criticized<\/a> by experts for repeated historical inaccuracies, teaches that America\u2019s \u201ctrue founding\u201d was when the first slaves were brought over and centers all of American history around slavery. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/11\/tennessee-teachers-criticize-critical-race-theory-ban\/\">(RELATED: \u2018I Plan To Ignore It\u2019: Tennessee Teachers Criticize Critical Race Theory Ban At Public Schools, Say It Will Harm Students)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout much detail of where he thinks our youth are being indoctrinated \u2013 it sounds very mysterious and dangerous \u2013 although I don\u2019t think we would think that we believe that the youth and the future leaders of the country about systemic racism is indoctrination,\u201d Psaki said. \u201cThat\u2019s actually responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The press secretary said that Cotton could find funding for his worker training through other means, like taxing the wealthy and corporations. She added that the administration was open to a conversation about training for working-class jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut, I would say if he\u2019s trying to raise money for something, then our view is there\u2019s lots of ways to do that,\u201d she continued. \u201cWe know that a number of corporations hugely benefited financially during the pandemic. They could pay more taxes.
