Lives can be ruined and, in the case of a New Orleans business owner, jobs can be lost.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As first reported by \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.outkick.com\/man-loses-his-coffee-franchise-for-telling-lebron-to-eat-a-eggplant\/\">Outkick the Coverage<\/a>,\u201d Stephen Bruno Jr. is a Louisiana man who, up until recently, operated a PJ\u2019s Coffee franchise in New Orleans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Following weeks of anti-cop tweets, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers posted a message on Facebook that said \u201cProtect our Young Black Women &#038; Men!\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bruno Jr. replied with an insult, telling James to <\/span>\u2018<span>Eat a d***.<\/span>\u2019<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"9.5584415584416\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">New Orleans\u2019 PJ Coffee Franchisee, Stephen Bruno, says to \u201cEat a \ud83c\udf46[d*ck]\u201d in response to \u201cProtect our Young Black Women &#038; Men!\u201d from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KingJames?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@KingJames<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IKblP083Ph\">pic.twitter.com\/IKblP083Ph<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kenn Barnes, ESQ. (@kennbarnes) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kennbarnes\/status\/1389358130543333378?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 3, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>The response was noticed by other Facebook users and went viral on Twitter after one user posted screenshots of Bruno Jr.\u2019s comment alongside a description of his employment as a PJ\u2019s Coffee franchisee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Numerous users began tagging PJ\u2019s coffee in the post, and soon, the chain responded.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cPJ\u2019s Coffee does not tolerate hatred or disrespect of any kind,\u201d the coffee chain said on Twitter. \u201cThe words used by Stephen Bruno Jr. were inappropriate and uncalled for. Our PJ\u2019s Coffee Brand and our locations take pride in supporting the diverse communities in which we serve. The woman who was killed, Ma\u2019Khia Bryant, was reportedly in the midst of attempting to stab another black woman when the officer opened fire, potentially saving the life of the woman about to be stabbed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>James tweeted in response to the shooting with a picture of the officer, writing, \u201cYOU\u2019RE NEXT. #ACCOUNTABILITY.\u201d James later deleted the post.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"14.721179624665\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KingJames?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@KingJames<\/a>, with his vast resources &#038; influence, should educate himself and, frankly, has a responsibility to do so, on the facts before weighing in. The statements made do NOT represent the Bellevue Marshal\u2019s Office. The Bellevue Marshal\u2019s Office always demands that our Deputies engage with our citizens in a friendly and professional manner,\u201d Bellevue\u2019s Marshal\u2019s Office said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/nate-silvester-cop-who-mocked-lebron-james-previously-cleared-motel-shooting-death-1587803\">statement<\/a>. \u201cThis NOT how we expect our Deputies to act on duty or use city time.
