Colonial Pipeline has shut down 5,500 miles of oil pipelines in response to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/08\/cyber-attack-shuts-down-colonial-pipeline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a ransomware attack<\/a> from the \u201cDarkSide\u201d hacking group. (Photo by Alex Wong\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday night that President Joe Biden and his administration <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/10\/biden-darkside-colonial-pipeline-shortages-oil-psaki\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">continue to monitor<\/a> the situation for more ways to alleviate or prevent shortages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Administration is continually assessing the impact of this ongoing incident on fuel supply for the East Coast. We are monitoring supply shortages in parts of the Southeast and are evaluating every action the Administration can take to mitigate the impact as much as possible,\u201d Psaki said in a statement Monday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President continues to be regularly briefed on the Colonial Pipeline incident,\u201d she added.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/07\/biden-administration-task-force-china-cyber-attack-microsoft\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:\u00a0REPORT: Biden Administration To Create Task Force To Address China-Linked Cyber Attack Against Microsoft)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. government said earlier Monday that it does not at this point believe a foreign nation was behind the attack, saying evidence points to DarkSide acting on its own accord. Democratic North Carolina Gov.
