Bernie Sanders ripped Democratic efforts to reinstate state and local tax deductions, saying that the move sends a \u201cterrible, terrible message.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump capped <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/10\/27\/salt-deduction-becomes-latest-sticking-point-on-tax-reform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SALT deductions<\/a> at $10,000 during his term, but many Democrats, including House Speaker <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/05\/12\/pelosi-tax-break-rich-coronavirus-package-3-trillion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nancy Pelosi<\/a> and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, support reinstating them.
