The Trump administration, however, argued the 2016 interpretation exceeded the scope of authority under Section 1557.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration was later <a href=\"https:\/\/hrc-prod-requests.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com\/123116892418.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blocked<\/a> by a federal judge in August who ruled the rule was contrary to the Supreme Court\u2019s ruling and that HHS acted \u201carbitrarily and capriciously.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Biden administration announced Monday they would reverse a Trump-era policy that limited health care protections for transgender patients.
