Jenner is the latest candidate in a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/18\/california-recall-backers-2-million-signatures-deadline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recall election<\/a> seeking to oust Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am for legal immigration, okay,\u201d Jenner said. \u201cWhat\u2019s been happening on the border was honestly one of the reasons I decided to run for governor. I was watching people dying coming across the river, kids in cages \u00ad\u2013 whatever you want to call them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Bash asked whether Jenner supported a pathway to citizenship for those in the country illegally, Jenner answered yes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely, yeah. A Public Policy Institute of California <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ppic.org\/press-release\/four-in-ten-support-newsom-recall-job-approval-holds-steady\/\">poll<\/a> released in March showed that 85% of Californians \u2013 and 68% of California Republicans \u2013 supported a pathway to citizenship for immigrants in the state illegally as long as certain conditions were met.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/18\/house-passes-immigration-bills-border-crisis-intensifies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: House Passes Two Immigration Bills As Border Crisis Intensifies)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jenner added that \u201cbad\u201d immigrants should be deported, defining the group as those with criminal records and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/01\/29\/border-patrol-arrests-ms-13-gang-member\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gang affiliations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a lot of bad people that are trying to cross our border illegally,\u201d Jenner said. \u201cI don\u2019t want those people in our country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
