She previously worked at the AFL-CIO and Directors Guild of America, and ethics rules would have otherwise prohibited her from working or communicating with either of her former employers, Axios <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/bidens-ethics-union-labor-69aa2550-495e-422c-afce-07a80be0893e.html\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of Personnel Management similarly waived ethics rules <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opm.gov\/news\/reports-publications\/publications-database\/predeoux-pledge-waiver.pdf\">in a March 15 memo<\/a> for Alethea Predeoux, the agency\u2019s director of intergovernmental affairs. She was the top lobbyist for the American Federation of Government Employees, a union that represents hundreds of thousands of federal workers, Axios <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/bidens-ethics-union-labor-69aa2550-495e-422c-afce-07a80be0893e.html\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Biden appointed top union officials on transition teams for most federal agencies and later for senior cabinet-level posts, Axios <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/bidens-ethics-union-labor-69aa2550-495e-422c-afce-07a80be0893e.html\">reported<\/a>. The administration\u2019s ethics rules bar appointees from participating \u201cin any particular matter involving specific parties that is directly and substantially related to my former employer or former clients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the White House has argued that waiving ethics rules for former union leaders is different than for appointees who come from the private sector, Axios <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/bidens-ethics-union-labor-69aa2550-495e-422c-afce-07a80be0893e.html\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden has stood strong for unions throughout his career, and he\u2019s proud to have leading labor voices in the White House and throughout his administration helping to enact that agenda,\u201d a White House spokesperson told Axios.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s infrastructure plan would <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/01\/americans-for-prosperity-joe-biden-international-brotherhood-of-electrical-workers\/\">effectively reverse<\/a> right-to-work laws enacted in multiple states and make it easier for workers to unionize.
