Mosby\u2019s office argued that language included in the outlet\u2019s coverage of the city attorney is \u201cinflammatory against the safety of an elected official\u201d and therefore violates federal statute.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere appears to be an intentional crusade against State\u2019s Attorney Mosby, which given today\u2019s politically charged and divisive environment, is extremely dangerous,\u201d Baltimore City State\u2019s Attorney\u2019s Office Communications Director Zy Richardson wrote in the letter addressed to Acting FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/11\/30\/historic-chairmanship-federal-communications-commission-chairman-ajit-pai-step-down\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018Historic Chairmanship\u2019: FCC Chairman Ajit Pai To Step Down In January)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have noted that the news coverage of the WBFF persistently follows a disconcerting and dangerous pattern: beginning with a slanted, rigged, misleading, or inflammatory headline; followed by a conspiracy theory; and supported with guest commentary from disgruntled ex-employees or political opponents that lend false credibility to their biased coverage or omission of facts,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7187692\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"35\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7187692\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7187692\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/GettyImages-594876292-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"State's Attorney for Baltimore Marilyn Mosby is interviewed on Aug. 24, 2016 in Baltimore, Maryland. (Larry French\/Getty Images for BET Networks)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Richardson said WBFF has violated <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/23\/jessica-rosenworcel-fox-news-fcc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FCC rules<\/a> that prohibit outlets from intentionally distorting the news and that refer to rigging the news as a \u201cheinous act against the public interest.\u201d WBFF is guilty of such heinous acts, she said.<\/p>\n<p>The letter specifically cited six articles, including one editorial, published by WBFF, which Richardson said exemplified the outlet\u2019s \u201cdangerous\u201d bias. She said WBFF has run 141 slanted stories against the city\u2019s top prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>In one of the referenced articles, WBFF <a href=\"https:\/\/foxbaltimore.com\/features\/operation-crime-justice\/rollout-of-new-policies-by-marilyn-mosby-needed-more-colaboration-experts-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> in April that Mosby had selectively enforced the law \u2014 part of an initiative Mosby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/baltimore-will-no-longer-prosecute-drug-possession-prostitution-low-level-n1262209\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">publicly announced<\/a> she would pursue in March \u2014 which caused confusion at law enforcement agencies including the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2016\/05\/26\/baltimore-cops-sue-marilyn-mosby-for-defamation-in-freddie-gray-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baltimore Police Department<\/a>. Another article reported in September on an Operation: Crime &#038; Justice investigation that purportedly showed a lack of oversight on Mosby\u2019s fundraising activity.<\/p>\n<p>Richardson also repeatedly suggested in the letter that there was an editorial connection between WBFF and Fox News, which she said is \u201cinfamous for its bias against people of color.\u201d The letter said multiple civil rights groups have called for Tucker Carlson\u2019s termination for \u201cfrequent endorsements of white supremacy view<span class=\"l6\">s\u201d on his show.<\/span> Local Fox affiliates and Fox News are both owned by the Fox Corporation, but don\u2019t share editorial staff.<\/p>\n<p>The FCC and Mosby\u2019s office didn\u2019t immediately respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
