The Astros were outed in 2019 when former pitcher Mike Fiers told \u201cThe Athletic\u201d they were using a video camera in the stands to film opposing catchers signs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The scandal lit the world of Major League Baseball on fire and former Astros manager A.J. Hinch was fired over the blowback. Though no Astros players were suspended, general manager Jeff Luhnow was suspended for one year and eventually fired, and the organization forfeited their first and second round draft picks the following two seasons. Many in baseball felt that the punishment was not harsh enough, as the players who participated in the scandal came away largely unscathed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Yes. Altuve, the 2017 American League MVP winner, quickly became the face of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/MTNBnk1dz6g?t=196\"><span>sign-stealing scandal<\/span><\/a><span>, and Yankees fans let him know they hadn\u2019t forgotten the role he played.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"6.75\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Yes, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Yankees?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Yankees<\/a> fans are yelling what you think they are yelling at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Astros?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Astros<\/a>\u2019 Jose Altuve <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MXG0Y7Z9hD\">pic.twitter.com\/MXG0Y7Z9hD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Brendan Kuty (@BrendanKutyNJ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrendanKutyNJ\/status\/1389719256552595461?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 4, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>The \u201csellout\u201d socially distanced crowd of 10,850 fans let the Astros have it from the very first pitch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe energy that was created, we haven\u2019t seen that since 2019, so it was a fun game to be a part of,\u201d Yankees skipper Aaron Boone said.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThat was intense,\u201d Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton added. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t want to be on the other side of that. They brought some heavy.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The intensity seemed to get to Altuve, as he went 0-4 with a strikeout at the plate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe fans were extremely hard on Altuve tonight,\u201d Astros manager Dusty Baker said after the game. \u201cHe\u2019s exerting a lot of effort, maybe too much effort.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAt least there wasn\u2019t any violence. They can say whatever they want,\u201d Baker continued. \u201cIt sounded like a packed house tonight even though it wasn\u2019t. We expected that reception, so we\u2019ll get more of the same tomorrow and the next day.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Yankees lost to the Astros in the 2017 American League Championship series before Houston went on to win the World Series.
