I\u2019ve declined it several times. I\u2019ve had contracts in countries like Ukraine. In the contract is a clause that says I will not engage in lobbying or foreign representation. I don\u2019t do it because I felt it would be too compromising,\u201d Giuliani, who was former President Donald Trump\u2019s personal lawyer, said during an appearance on Fox News\u2019s \u201cTucker Carlson Tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not registering with the DOJ would violate the\u00a0Foreign Agent Registration Act.<\/p>\n<p>Giuliani used to represent Lev Parnas, a Ukrainian national who was later charged with campaign finance violations.<\/p>\n<p>FBI agents entered Giuliani\u2019s home in New York City and seized multiple devices, including laptop computers.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI and Department of Justice have not returned a request for comment. Officials typically do not comment on ongoing investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Giuliani said he has offered to give materials to the government for two years but has been rebuffed.<\/p>\n<p>According to Giuliani\u2019s attorney, Bob Costello, the former mayor informed federal investigators previously that he would sit down with them and demonstrate that his \u201cconduct was lawful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Giuliani added that the agents were \u201cvery professional and very gentlemanly\u201d but criticized them for not taking hard drives he said were from a laptop that used to belong to President Joe Biden\u2019s son Hunter Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the end of the search, when they had taken about, I would say, seven or eight electronic items of mine \u2026 they weren\u2019t taking the three hard drives, which of course, are electronic devices. They just mimic the computer. I said, \u2018Well, don\u2019t you want these?\u2019 And they said, \u2018What are they? I said, \u2018Those are Hunter Biden\u2019s hard drives. And they said \u2018no, no, no,&#8217;\u201d Giuliani said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said, \u2018Are you sure you don\u2019t want them? (Andrew Kelly\/Reuters)<\/figure>\n<p>The evidence that was taken by agents \u201cis exculpatory\u201d and will prove Trump and Giuliani \u201care innocent,\u201d according to the attorney, who accused the Biden administration of making up an allegation against him while ignoring violations of the\u00a0Foreign Agent Registration Act by the president\u2019s son.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden is under investigation by federal authorities. It\u2019s not clear what he\u2019s been accused of, though he has said the probe deals with tax issues.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/biden-says-he-learned-of-fbi-search-of-giulianis-home-after-it-happened_3796119.html\">said earlier Thursday<\/a> that he did not know of the raid on Giuliani\u2019s home until after it happened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI learned about that last night when the rest of the world learned about it. My word. I had no idea this was underway,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Giuliani is the latest figure in Trump\u2019s orbit to be probed by the DOJ. Authorities made convictions on former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and former adviser Roger Stone, but saw a case against former national security adviser Michael Flynn crumble <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/doj-drops-case-against-michael-flynn_3342816.html\">after a review was conducted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Trump condemned the raid in an interview with Fox Business, calling it \u201cso unfair and such a double\u2014it\u2019s like a double standard like I don\u2019t think anybody\u2019s ever seen before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Jack Phillips and Tom Ozimek contributed to this report.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is challenging the basis of a federal raid on his home.
