Ingham III spoke at a hearing on Tuesday at Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf of Britney Spears, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/04\/27\/entertainment\/britney-spears-address-court-conservatorship-hearing\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBritney wants to address the court directly,\u201d said Ingham, adding that she would like to do so within the next month. The hearing has been scheduled for June 23.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>CNN added that \u201cThe battle over Spears\u2019 $60 million estate has been going on for months.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt started last August when Ingham filed to officially remove her father, Jamie Spears, as conservator. The elder Spears had been the conservator of her estate since 2008, along with attorney Andrew Wallet, following a series of personal issues that played out publicly for the singer. For most of that period, Jamie Spears also oversaw his daughter\u2019s health and medical decisions. He became the sole conservator of the singer\u2019s estate in 2019, following Wallet\u2019s resignation,\u201d CNN explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The subject of Britney Spears\u2019 conservatorship \u2014 and, more broadly, her general well-being \u2014 was brought to the forefront of the country\u2019s cultural psyche after The New York Times\u2019 documentary, \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/02\/10\/entertainment\/framing-britney-director\/index.html\"><span>Framing Britney Spears<\/span><\/a><span>,\u201d debuted in February. With growing support for the end of the conservatorship, the hashtag #FreeBritney has gone viral.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In March, Spears <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2021\/music\/news\/britney-spears-documentary-embarrassed-1234941265\/\"><span>responded<\/span><\/a><span> to the documentary, saying that she was \u201cembarrassed\u201d by it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMy life has always been very speculated \u2026watched \u2026 and judged really my whole life !!!\u201d Spears wrote on Instagram. \u201cFor my sanity I need to dance to @iamstevent every night of my life to feel wild and human and alive !!! I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people !!! It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I\u2019ve always been so judged\u2026 insulted\u2026 and embarrassed by the media\u2026 and I still am till this day !!!! As the world keeps on turning and life goes on we still remain so fragile and sensitive as people !!!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI didn\u2019t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in,\u201d she added. \u201cI cried for two weeks and well \u2026. I still cry sometimes!!!!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to CNN, Jamie Spears claimed that he has not spoken with Britney Spears since the summer of 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI love my daughter and I miss her very much,\u201d he told CNN in December 2020. \u201cWhen a family member needs special care and protection, families need to step up, as I have done for the last 12-plus years, to safeguard, protect and continue to love Britney unconditionally.
