Version: 4.0.47--><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-california\">California<\/a> officials colluded with Big Tech to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-censor\">censor<\/a> social media posts in the United States during the 2020 presidential election, government watchdog group Judicial Watch announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The findings come after\u00a0Judicial Watch\u00a0received\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/documents\/ca-sos-big-tech-election-misinformation-pra-foia-2021\/\">540 pages<\/a>\u00a0and a further <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/documents\/ca-sos-big-tech-election-misinformation-pra-tracking-2021\/\">four pages<\/a>\u00a0of documents from the office of the Secretary of State of California in response to an open records request, the group said.<\/p>\n<p>It had filed the request after a December 2020 report surfaced revealing that California\u2019s Office of Election Cybersecurity had surveilled and asked the social media giants to remove or flag as \u201cmisleading\u201d at least two dozen messages.<\/p>\n<p>Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/CA-SoS-Big-Tech-Election-Misinformation-PRA-FOIA-2021-prod-1-pgs-223-225.pdf\">SKDKnickerbocker<\/a>, a communications company linked to President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-joe-biden\">Joe Biden<\/a>\u2019s election campaign, was involved in the censoring of speech during last year\u2019s election period.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u00a0did this by sharing its \u201cMisinformation Daily Briefings\u201d with California officials, who then passed them on to social media giants Facebook, Twitter, and Google for dissemination, according to Judicial Watch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese new documents suggest a conspiracy against the First Amendment rights of Americans by the California Secretary of State, the Biden campaign operation, and Big Tech,\u201d Fitton said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3196887\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-460394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/fb_image-1362.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"801\"  style=\"display:none\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/fb_image-1362.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/fb_image-1362-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/fb_image-1362-1024x684.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/fb_image-1362-768x513.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/fb_image-1362-922x615.jpeg 922w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/fb_image-1362-675x451.jpeg 675w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/fb_image-1362-480x320.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, in Washington on Nov. 1, 2019. (Robyn Beck\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<p>Google\u2019s YouTube was contacted directly by a state official to remove a Judicial Watch video on the platform on Sept. 24, last year, according to the group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYouTube seemed to respond by deleting the video on September 27, 2020,\u201d Judicial Watch said.<\/p>\n<p>In another instance, a Facebook user who implied having voted twice with multiple ballots had their post removed on Oct. 31, 2020. Other posts removed by social media giants included claims of voter fraud, receiving multiple ballots in the mail, and finding thousands of alleged unopened ballots in a dumpster.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a Twitter post from Fitton that said \u201cMailing 51 million ballots to those who haven\u2019t asked for increases risk of voter fraud of voter intimidation,\u201d was flagged by SKDKnickerBocker as part of its \u201cMisinformation Tracker.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Washington-based SKDKnickerBocker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prweek.com\/article\/1699986\/biden-campaigns-anita-dunn-heads-back-skdknickerbocker\">said in a statement last November<\/a> that it developed the Biden campaign\u2019s vote-by-mail program in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>The communications firm and California\u2019s Office of Election Cybersecurity didn\u2019t immediately respond to requests for comment by The Epoch Times.<\/p>\n<p>Big Tech companies have drawn intense scrutiny for perceived political bias and alleged unbalanced moderation of users\u2019 content. Critics say much of the companies\u2019 moderation in the past year has unfairly targeted conservative speech and speech from individuals deemed to be supporters of former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, groups on the other side of the aisle have been taking issue with how social media companies are operating, claiming that the Silicon Valley companies have failed to adequately address misinformation that is being proliferated online.<\/p>\n<p><em>Janita Kan contributed to this report.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>California officials colluded with Big Tech to censor social media posts in the United States during the 2020 presidential election, government watchdog group Judicial Watch announced Tuesday.
