During the primetime show, the two discussed their positions on various mask mandates across the country and the societal attitude regarding the use of masks, specifically wearing them outside and children wearing masks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt does seem like we\u2019ve internalized \u2014 by we, I don\u2019t mean Republicans or conservatives, I just mean normal people who remember what the country was like 18 months ago \u2014 have internalized the framework that other people have written for us,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/tv\/tucker-carlson-urges-audience-to-call-the-police-immediately-if-they-see-kids-wearing-masks-outdoors\/\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> Carlson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was in Austin a few days ago and I\u2019m walking outside without a mask on and people are staring at me like I\u2019m the crazy one for not having a mask on,\u201d Walsh responded. \u201cMeanwhile if you\u2019re walking outside with a mask on, I should be looking at you, and I do look at you like I would look at a grown man hugging a teddy bear and having a pacifier in his mouth while he\u2019s walking down the street.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis is your security blanket,\u201d Walsh continued. \u201cThere\u2019s no reason for you to have it on. You\u2019re just afraid. You\u2019re afraid of fresh air. That\u2019s what\u2019s happening. People are afraid to breathe air, and we\u2019re making it so that kids are afraid of air too, and that\u2019s insane to me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI agree with you completely,\u201d Carlson added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/prevent-getting-sick\/about-face-coverings.html\"><span>current guidance<\/span><\/a><span> from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the health agency \u201c<\/span><span>recommends that people wear masks in public settings, at events and gatherings, and anywhere they will be around other people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cEffective February 2, 2021, masks are required on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations,\u201d the CDC states.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The CDC also instructs parents not to put masks on children younger than 2 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMasks may not be necessary when you are outside by yourself away from others, or with people who live in your household,\u201d reads\u00a0further guidance from the CDC. \u201cHowever, some areas may have mask mandates while out in public, so please check the rules in your local area (such as in your city, county, or state). Additionally, check whether any federal mask mandates apply to where you will be going.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/cdc-guidelines-face-mask-outdoors-vaccinated-live-stream-2021-04-27\/\">CBS News<\/a> reported that CDC<\/span><span>\u00a0is \u201cexpected to announce updated guidelines for fully vaccinated Americans as early as Tuesday, according to several administration officials.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cA federal official tells CBS News that the Biden administration will release new \u2018interim public health recommendations\u2019 that will provide guidelines for activities that <\/span><span>vaccinated people may resume<\/span><span>, including recommendations related to health care settings and whether to wear masks outdoors,\u201d CBS News noted, adding that the new rules\u2019 language was still being finalized.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
