{"id":459646,"date":"2021-04-27T10:36:01","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T14:36:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/?p=459646"},"modified":"2021-04-27T11:03:28","modified_gmt":"2021-04-27T15:03:28","slug":"project-veritas-sues-cnn-for-defamation-cnn-anchor-at-center-of-legal-matter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/project-veritas-sues-cnn-for-defamation-cnn-anchor-at-center-of-legal-matter\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Veritas Sues CNN For Defamation; CNN Anchor At Center Of Legal Matter"},"content":{"rendered":"<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"><div class=\"mashsb-box\"><div class=\"mashsb-count mash-medium\" style=\"&quot;\"><div class=\"counts mashsbcount\">26<\/div><span class=\"mashsb-sharetext\">SHARES<\/span><\/div><div class=\"mashsb-buttons\"><a class=\"mashicon-facebook mash-medium mash-nomargin mashsb-noshadow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.conservativenewsdaily.net%2Fbreaking-news%2Fproject-veritas-sues-cnn-for-defamation-cnn-anchor-at-center-of-legal-matter%2F\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"icon\"><\/span><span class=\"text\">Facebook<\/span><\/a><a class=\"mashicon-twitter mash-medium mash-nomargin mashsb-noshadow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?text=&amp;url=https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/?p=459646&amp;via=ConservNewsDly\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"icon\"><\/span><span class=\"text\">Twitter<\/span><\/a><a class=\"mashicon-subscribe mash-medium mash-nomargin mashsb-noshadow\" href=\"#\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"icon\"><\/span><span class=\"text\">Subscribe<\/span><\/a><div class=\"onoffswitch2 mash-medium mashsb-noshadow\" style=\"display:none\"><\/div><\/div>\n            <\/div>\n                <div style=\"clear:both\"><\/div><\/aside>\n            <!-- Share buttons by mashshare.net - Version: 4.0.47--><p>James O\u2019Keefe\u2019s undercover journalist group Project Veritas filed suit Monday against CNN for defamation.<\/p>\n<p>Following Twitter\u2019s permanent suspension of the Project Veritas Twitter account for allegedly sharing \u201cprivate information\u201d without consent, CNN anchor Ana Cabrera falsely said the ban was\u00a0part of a crackdown on \u201cmisinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCabrera had knowledge of Twitter\u2019s original reasoning for banning Veritas before she went on air and acted with malice when she said the\u00a0de-platforming was part of a crackdown on those \u2018promoting misinformation,&#8217;\u201d Project Veritas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectveritas.com\/news\/breaking-video-project-veritas-sues-cnn-after-network-host-said-pvs-twitter\/\">contended<\/a> Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The group noted that Cabrera, days earlier, \u201chad tweeted that the ban was in fact for an alleged violation of Twitter\u2019s privacy policies \u2013 not for misinformation as Cabrera stated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In February, CNN Business <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/02\/11\/tech\/twitter-project-veritas\/index.html\">reported<\/a> that Twitter banned Project Veritas for alleged \u201crepeated violations of the platform\u2019s policies prohibiting sharing \u2014 or threats of sharing \u2014 other people\u2019s private information without consent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to O\u2019Keefe,\u00a0Twitter highlighted the apparently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitter-permanently-bans-james-okeefes-project-veritas\">rule-violating post<\/a> from Project Veritas as a video showing the Facebook Vice President of Integrity Guy Rosen being questioned outside his home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tweet in question arose when asking for comment from Facebook\u2019s VP of Integrity about censorship,\u201d Project Veritas said from their Telegram channel. \u201cProject Veritas is appealing this decision, as no privacy was violated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Big Tech\u2019s targeting of Project Veritas has only continued. O\u2019Keefe\u2019s personal Twitter account was banned earlier this month, the same week the organization released more damaging footage to CNN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwitter claimed without evidence that O\u2019Keefe was \u2018violating the Twitter Rules on\u00a0platform manipulation and spam,&#8217;\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitter-permanently-bans-journalist-james-okeefe-after-he-releases-videos-damaging-to-cnn\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs outlined in our policy on platform manipulation and spam, \u2018You can\u2019t mislead others on Twitter by operating fake accounts,\u2019 and \u2018you can\u2019t artificially amplify or disrupt conversations through the use of multiple accounts,\u2019\u201d the Big Tech company said.<\/p>\n<p>In response, O\u2019Keefe announced his intention to sue Twitter and the suit was filed last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am suing Twitter for defamation because they said, I, James O\u2019Keefe, \u2018operated fake accounts.\u2019 This is false, this is defamatory, and they will pay,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/james-okeefe-twitter-defamation-project-veritas\">said<\/a>\u00a0at the time. \u201cSection 230 may have protected them before, but it will not protect them from me.
