Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) responded to claims that he is a so-called \u201croadblock\u201d to getting the Biden administration\u2019s agenda pushed through. In an interview Sunday, Manchin said the best politics is \u201cgood government,\u201d adding \u201cone-party-thinking\u201d will get the country nowhere.<\/p>\n<p>He said if the government does something everyone tags along with, great things can happen. Manchin credited Congress\u2019s structure to the founding fathers. He noted, they set a brilliant strategy in place that lawmakers need to give a chance.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sen. Joe Manchin says he is &#8220;not a roadblock at all&#8221; for the Biden administration&#8217;s goals, adding, &#8220;I am not going to be part of blowing up this Senate of ours, or basically this democracy of ours or the republic that we have.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CNNSOTU?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#CNNSOTU<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9CxoHr793p\">pic.twitter.com\/9CxoHr793p<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CNN Politics (@CNNPolitics) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CNNPolitics\/status\/1386316245641924611?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 25, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe won\u2019t give this system a chance to work,\u201d the West Virginia senator stated. \u201cI\u2019m not going to be part of blowing up this Senate of ours, or basically, this democracy of ours, or the republic that we have. If we have a 51 vote threshold in the Senate, the same as the House \u2014 the House wasn\u2019t designed to be partisan. The House was designed to be hot as a firecracker.
