Wade<\/span><\/i><span>, fund abortion conglomerate Planned Parenthood, and enact several more policies that would expand abortion access across the United States. Indeed, as Biden has fulfilled these promises, he has earned accolades from various pro-choice activist groups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Here are five pro-life policies Biden scrapped in only three months in office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Mexico City Policy<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Within his first week in office, President Biden reversed the Mexico City Policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>First enacted by President Ronald Reagan in 1984, the Mexic<\/span><span>o City Policy bars federal funding overseas from being used to \u201cperform abortions, provide advice, counseling, or information regarding abortion, or lobby a foreign government to legalize abortion or make abortion services more easily available,\u201d as described by a White House <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/01\/28\/memorandum-on-protecting-womens-health-at-home-and-abroad\/\"><span>press release<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Since Reagan instituted the Mexico City Policy, each new President has either rescinded or re-instituted the executive order, depending upon party affiliation. Within his first days in office, President Trump had re-enacted the statute after it had been muted during the Obama years. Nearly 140 abortion activist groups <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/files\/9814\/8486\/3032\/Coalition_Statement_Opposing_the_Global_Gag_Rule.pdf\"><span>condemned<\/span><\/a><span> Trump for doing so, stating that the policy causes \u201cserious harm\u201d throughout the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>President Biden once again revoked the Mexico City Policy, directing all American agencies involved in foreign assistance to \u201cwork with the Administrator of USAID and across United States Government foreign assistance programs to ensure that adequate funds are being directed to support women\u2019s health needs globally, including sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Pro-abortion organizations were thrilled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAfter four years of unyielding attacks on reproductive freedom by the Trump administration, we celebrate President Biden putting an end to the harmful global gag rule and rolling back the domestic gag rule,\u201d said NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prochoiceamerica.org\/2021\/01\/28\/naral-applauds-president-bidens-actions-to-expand-reproductive-freedom\/\"><span>statement<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cThis move sends a message at home and around the world that the new Biden-Harris administration understands that reproductive freedom is central to the pursuit of equity and justice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Fetal Tissue Research<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>President Biden is reversing federal regulations regarding research on the remains of unborn babies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Under the Trump administration, the United States Department of Health and Human Services <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-admin-clears-the-way-to-allow-research-on-fetal-tissue-from-abortions\"><span>announced<\/span><\/a><span> that National Institutes of Health resea<\/span><span>rch involving \u201cnew acquisition of human fetal tissue from elective abortions\u201d would no longer be conducted. However, Biden\u2019s Health and Human Services department declared that \u201call research applications for NIH grants and contracts proposing the use of human fetal tissue from elective abortions\u201d would no longer be reviewed by an Ethics Advisory Board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The move is unsurprising given the fact that Xavier Becerra \u2014 the present Secretary of Health and Human Services \u2014 is adamantly in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/a-perfect-rating-from-planned-parenthood-5-things-to-know-about-biden-hhs-nominees-abortion-record\"><span>favor<\/span><\/a><span> of abortion. In the past, Becerra supported partial-birth abortion, opposed groups like the Little Sisters of the Poor when they refused to endorse Obama-era contraceptive requirements, and voted against the Hyde amendment as a member of the House of Representatives \u2014 all of which earned him a \u201cperfect rating\u201d from Planned Parenthood.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe believe that we have to do the research it takes to make sure that we are incorporating innovation and getting all of those types of treatments and therapies out there to the American people,\u201d commented Becerra about the fetal tissue rule change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Title X<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Like the Mexico City Policy and fetal tissue research regulations, President Biden is moving to undo President Trump\u2019s policies under the Title X Family Planning Program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Title X Program is dedicated to \u201censuring access to a broad range of family planning and related preventive health services for millions of low-income or uninsured individuals and others.\u201d The Trump administration\u2019s new rules ensured that Title X funds could not be <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/public3.pagefreezer.com\/browse\/HHS.gov\/31-12-2020T08:51\/https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/about\/news\/2019\/02\/22\/fact-sheet-final-title-x-rule-detailing-family-planning-grant-program.html\"><span>used<\/span><\/a><span> to \u201cpromote, refer for, or support abortion as a method of family planning.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>President Biden is planning to reverse Trump\u2019s rules, alleging that they \u201chave undermined the public health of the population the program is meant to serve.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Overlooking the fact that African-American and minority children are disproportionately likely to become the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.house.gov\/meetings\/JU\/JU10\/20171101\/106562\/HHRG-115-JU10-Wstate-ParkerS-20171101-SD001.pdf\"><span>victims<\/span><\/a><span> of abortion, a Department of Health and Human Services proposal to revise the rule alleges that \u201cadvancing equity for all, including people of color and others who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality, is a priority for the Department.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As NPR <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/04\/14\/987131269\/biden-administration-moves-to-undo-trump-abortion-rules-for-title-x\"><span>reports<\/span><\/a><span>, Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson was likewise pleased with Biden\u2019s new policy. She said that the Trump administration\u2019s approach \u201creally did decimate access to affordable reproductive health care\u2026 and it severely decreased the program\u2019s healthcare provider network, which puts more financial restraints on patients.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Geneva Consensus Declaration<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>President Biden is removing the United States from an international alliance upholding the unborn child\u2019s inalienable right to life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/geneva-consensus-declaration-english.pdf\"><span>initiate<\/span><span>d<\/span><\/a><span> the \u201cGeneva Consensus Declaration on Promoting Women\u2019s Health and Strengthening the Family\u201d \u2014 a document affirming that \u201cin no case should abortion be promoted as a method of family planning\u201d to uphold the reality that \u201call are equal before the law.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Secretary Pompeo <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/about\/news\/2020\/10\/22\/trump-administration-marks-signing-geneva-consensus-declaration.html\"><span>remarked<\/span><\/a><span> at the time that the Trump administration \u201cmounted an unprecedented defense of the unborn abroad.\u201d The declaration is signed by nearly three dozen countries, including Brazil, Egypt, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>After the document\u2019s creation in 2020, Former Secretary for Health and Human Services Alex Azar emphasized that the Geneva Consensus Declaration \u2014 which also reaffirms the family as the \u201cnatural and fundamental group unit of society\u201d \u2014 is a \u201chistoric document stating clearly where we as nations stand on women\u2019s health, the family, honoring life, and defending national sovereignty.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Biden adm<\/span><span>inistration promptly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/01\/28\/memorandum-on-protecting-womens-health-at-home-and-abroad\/\"><span>directed<\/span><\/a><span> its new Secretary of State and Secretary of Health and Human Services to \u201cwithdraw co-sponsorship and signature\u201d from the document, notifying other signatories of the reversal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>The views expressed in this opinion piece are the author\u2019s own and do not necessarily represent those of The Daily Wire.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
