A concerned parent group told The Daily Wire that a reception will be held in Casteel\u2019s honor and each guest that RSVPs is allowed to bring additional guests. Guests will be bused into the party using shuttles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The initial RSVP for the retirement party allowed each invited guest to bring 10 additional guests, though a spokesman for CUSD told The Daily Wire that was an \u201cerror.\u201d The new RSVP allows four additional guests.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Spokesman Terry Locke said the event is outdoors, where masks will be required and social distancing will be \u201cencouraged.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The same school board that is sponsoring the retirement party has also canceled the district\u2019s high school prom and limited guests for senior\u2019s end-of-the-year graduation ceremony.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Jennifer Alvey, a parent of five in CUSD, told The Daily Wire that parents are frustrated that the school is putting the superintendent\u2019s retirement party ahead of student\u2019s final high school memories.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe parents\u2019 frustration isn\u2019t that our School Board is holding the events for Dr. Casteel\u2019s retirement, but rather the glaring double standard of the Board not being willing to also approve virtually the exact same logistics for our students\u2019 Proms and Graduation ceremonies, using the excuse of \u2018COVID risks\u2019\u201d Alvey said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The district initially limited senior graduation to two guests per graduate, though the number was bumped to four guests following parent backlash over the district\u2019s \u201chypocrisy.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAlthough we\u2019re happy to see additional guests being able to attend with their students during one of the biggest celebrations in their lives, we find the hypocrisy to be staggering,\u201d Alvey said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One mother told The Daily Wire that she did everything in her power to keep her child in CUSD, but is now considering changing districts due to the lack of transparency and dishonesty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI have done everything to continue to stay in CUSD, including paying someone every day to drive my daughter to and from school over the past years because CUSD was where we needed to be. No other district could compare,\u201d Amy Jascourt said. \u201cThe board members are not voting what is best for our children \u2026 CUSD used to be the leader, the one district everyone looked up to. Now, you are the district no one wants to be part of.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In November 2019, CUSD came under fire for implementing a program called Deep Equity, which reportedly has a hostile attitude towards white people. The program was brought to light by Fox News host Tucker Carlson who <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-teacher-training-program-used-across-the-u-s-is-hostile-to-whites\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> that \u201cDeep Equity orders teachers, and we\u2019re quoting now, \u2018to explicitly reject and resist any parents who disagree with it.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/public-educational-initiative-in-arizona-instills-far-left-social-justice-values?fbclid=IwAR0PylnbQCxWhzSiGw5FFBSbMsf5CH4Qz8mbNzZsEMPq8ec4crFiGO23wlw\"><span>Deep Equity<\/span><\/a><span> \u201cis a comprehensive and systemic professional development process aimed at producing the deep personal, professional, and organizational transformations that are necessary to create equitable places of learning for all of our nation\u2019s children.\u201d The company uses unmistakable leftist language.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/arizonadailyindependent.com\/2019\/10\/30\/chandler-unifieds-deep-equity-program-came-with-shocking-price-tag\/\"><span>Arizona Daily Independent<\/span><\/a><span> reported that CUSD\u2019s spokesperson said that \u201capproximately 2,600 certified teachers have participated in the professional development because we facilitated a \u2018train the trainer\u2019 model.
