Experts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/experts-makhia-bryant-shooting-legally-justified-officer-likely-saved-one-or-more-lives\">say<\/a> the shoot was \u201clegally justified\u201d as the officer was acting to protect someone from potentially fatal harm.<\/p>\n<p>A day after Bryant\u2019s death, James posted a tweet with a picture allegedly of the officer-involved with the caption \u201cYOU\u2019RE NEXT,\u201d an hourglass emoji, and \u201c#ACCOUNTABILITY.\u201d James\u2019 tweet followed soon after the verdict in the case of former police officer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/candace-owens-chauvin-verdict-is-mob-rule-trial-polluted-from-start-to-finish\">Derek Chauvin<\/a> was announced in Minneapolis. Chauvin was found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-jury-finds-derek-chauvin-guilty\">guilty<\/a> of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd last year.<\/p>\n<p>James, \u201cwith his vast resources &#038; influence, should educate himself and, frankly, has a responsibility to do so, on the facts before weighing in. This is disgraceful &#038; extremely reckless,\u201d the NFOP tweeted Wednesday in response to James\u2019 targeting of the Columbus officer. \u201cThe officer saved a young girl\u2019s life. No amount of gaslighting will change that fact.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"14.721179624665\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KingJames?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@KingJames<\/a>, with his vast resources &#038; influence, should educate himself and, frankly, has a responsibility to do so, on the facts before weighing in. This is disgraceful &#038; extremely reckless.<\/p>\n<p>The officer saved a young girl&#8217;s life. No amount of gaslighting will change that fact. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GTHn1VAAlf\">pic.twitter.com\/GTHn1VAAlf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) (@GLFOP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GLFOP\/status\/1384971441825894400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 21, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>James later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/lebron-responds-after-his-youre-next-tweet-with-pic-of-cop-who-saved-girl-does-not-apologize\">deleted<\/a> the tweet of the photo of the officer, claiming that the tweet was being used to \u201ccreate more hate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cANGER does (sic) any of us any good and that includes myself!\u201d James tweeted. \u201cGathering all the facts and educating does though! My anger still is here for what happened that lil girl. My sympathy for her family and may justice prevail!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police,\u201d he added. \u201cI took the tweet down because its being used to create more hate -This isn\u2019t about one officer.\u00a0 it\u2019s about the entire system and they always use our words to create more racism. I am so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bryant\u2019s shooting was \u201cjustified,\u201d experts have said, because the Columbus officer had reason to believe that Bryant could have potentially killed someone else had she not been stopped.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy first impression is that the officer was legally justified in using deadly force,\u201d Bowling Green State University criminal justice professor Philip Stinson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a terribly tragic situation, and my heart goes out to the girl and her family and friends,\u201d he said. \u201cBut from looking at the video, it appears to me that a reasonable police officer would have had a reasonable apprehension of an imminent threat of serious bodily injury or death being imposed against an officer or someone else. That\u2019s the legal standard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Retired Columbus SWAT officer James Scanlon agreed with Stinson\u2019s analysis. \u201cAn officer is justified in using deadly force if his life or the life of someone else is at risk,\u201d Scanlon said. \u201cFew would argue that there weren\u2019t at least two lives there that were at serious risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The officer shot Bryant \u201cto save the life of someone he doesn\u2019t even know,\u201d Scanlon said. \u201cIt\u2019s a shame that no one has recognized that that officer, in all likelihood, saved one or more lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
