The virtual presentation was given by Principal Lauren Sprowls and the school\u2019s equity lead Suzanne Elbeze.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One slide in the PowerPoint claimed that \u201cLatinx\u201d students and families may be facing outsized hardships in comparison to other racial groups. The presentation listed immigration, deportation threats, language barriers, discrimination, access to services, employment difficulties, family responsibilities, health concerns, and family economics as barriers to \u201cLatinx\u201d families.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Listed under the category \u201cBarriers to success\u201d for Hispanic students, the presentation claimed that \u201cLatinx\u201d families struggle to communicate with the school because of work demands, lack of access to technology, and lack of understanding of parental engagement in education.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"EQUITY PRESENTATION   SUZANNE ELBEZE pptx   Google Slides\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YT9Dh8UB-dw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p><span>Teachers were told to support Hispanic students by choosing \u201cculturally representative classroom materials and books\u201d and practicing a slew of social justice buzzwords such as \u201ccultural humility,\u201d \u201cawareness of implicit bias,\u201d and \u201canti-racism.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to the presentation, \u201canti-racism\u201d is defined as \u201cactively opposing racism by advocating for changes in political, economic, and social life.\u201d Parents find it wildly inappropriate that teachers are trying to politicize their elementary-aged students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Ian Prior, the founder of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fightforschools.com\/\"><span>Figthforschools.com<\/span><\/a><span>, said that such theories and comments have no place in the public school system, especially in a public school system for kindergarteners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis is just another unfortunate example of Loudoun County Public Schools injecting regressive, divisive, and destructive critical race theory concepts in the school system,\u201d Prior told The Daily Wire. \u201cNot only are these issues not appropriate at an elementary school level, but they reinforce stereotypes when we should be encouraging teachers and children to treat everyone as a unique individual, not a member of a socially constructed demographic.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/loudoun-spending-6-million-equity-fy22.amp\"><span>Fox News<\/span><\/a><span>, Loudoun County is planning to allocate over $6 million in \u201cequity\u201d and \u201cequity training\u201d for the 2022 fiscal year budget.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The budget proposal allocated $339,516 on \u201cinstruction facilitators, equity, and culturally responsive,\u201d $565,983 for \u201cSchool Counselor,\u201d $72,000 for \u201cequity training across departments,\u201d and another $50,000 for \u201cdiversity interview panels.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Prior told The Daily Wire that LCPS is using this money to indoctrinate students with \u201ccritical race theory,\u201d the theory that claims that America is irredeemably rooted in racism.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cLCPS claims it has not implemented critical race theory, but example after example \u2014 and even materials from its own equity consultant \u2014 demonstrates that is exactly what they are doing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The district partners with an equity consulting firm called \u201cThe Equity Collaborative,\u201d which consistently touts its relationship to the divisive critical race theory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>LCPS did not respond to The Daily Wire\u2019s requests for comment in time for publication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
