Jewell Jones, who is\u00a0serving his third term as a state legislator and the youngest-ever representative elected to serve in the state House, was reportedly driving his Chevy Tahoe and weaving in and out of lanes, then rolled into a ditch, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/news\/local\/michigan\/2021\/04\/21\/lawmaker-arrest-jewell-jones-michigan-call-whitmer\/7329014002\/\">The Detroit News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor almost 50 miles, witnesses reported, the vehicle with the vanity plate \u2018ELECTED\u2019 was driving so recklessly earlier this month that at least one person saw the car go the wrong way before it rolled into a ditch,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2021\/04\/22\/michigan-dwi-jewell-jones-whitmer\/\">The Washington Post<\/a> added.<\/p>\n<p>Two state troopers arrived and said Jones \u201cwas combative and attempted to flash a badge at police instead of his identification.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The police report asserted that when troopers asked Jones again for an ID, he shook his arms \u201cas if he were about to do something.\u201d Jones was\u00a0taken to the ground where a stun gun was utilized as well as pepper spray in order for handcuffs to be applied. The cupholder of the Tahoe held a a loaded Glock, the report alleged.<\/p>\n<p>The police report stated that during the altercation, Jones snapped at the troopers, \u201cI don\u2019t give a f***\u00a0bro, when I call Gretchen (I\u2019ll) need [y\u2019all] ID\u2019s badge numbers everything,\u201d adding, \u201c\u201dIt\u2019s not going to be good for you, I run y\u2019all budget, bro.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause Jones refused to take a breathalyzer test at the scene, police obtained a warrant to draw his blood before his release the following day,\u201d The Post noted. Jones, whose blood alcohol content was 0.19 in a state where the legal driving limit is 0.08, was ultimately charged with four counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer;\u00a0operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content;\u00a0operating while intoxicated;\u00a0reckless driving; and possession of a weapon while under the influence of alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>Five days after the incident, Jones wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/1602713714\/videos\/10218537460340072\/\">Facebook<\/a>, \u201cThis last week has literally been the craziest week I\u2019ve ever had in my [life] as a civilian, but as a Spiritual Israelite, I know that the Great and Mighty God of Israel can open doors that no man can close and can close doors that no man can open. I am fully aware that even when we must walk through the fire, we shall not be burned; and though we walk through the rivers, they shall not overflow us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In July 2018, Jones, who was the youngest member ever to hold a position on the Inkster City Council when he was elected in 2015, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clickondetroit.com\/news\/2018\/07\/19\/state-rep-jewell-jones-accused-of-driving-with-open-intoxicants-in-dearborn\/\">charged with a misdemeanor<\/a> for driving with open intoxicants.\u00a0That charge was later dismissed.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
