In addition to Twitter, other platforms have been eager to engage in rampant censorship \u2014 a reality reflective of social media company executives\u2019 overwhelming <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/facebook-twitter-biden-campaign-donations-censorship\"><span>tendency<\/span><\/a><span> to support Democrats over Republicans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Here are four more recent examples of big tech censoring bombshell stories that made powerful leftists look bad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>BLM Co-Founder\u2019s Home-Buying Spree<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Black Lives Matter activist and co-founder Patrisse Cullors \u2014 who calls herself a \u201ctrained Marxist\u201d and believes that capitalism is \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article?id=17259\"><span>more tragic<\/span><\/a><span>\u201d than COVID-19 \u2014 recently purchased a $1.4 million property near Malibu, California.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/04\/10\/inside-blm-co-founder-patrisse-khan-cullors-real-estate-buying-binge\/\"><span>The New York Post<\/span><\/a><span> details, Cullors has acquired over $3 million in luxury real estate since Black Lives Matter rose to national prominence. In addition to the Malibu home \u2014 located in an area where less than 2% of the population is African-American \u2014 Cullors recently purchased a $415,000 home in Atlanta, a $590,000 home in South Los Angeles, and a $510,000 home in Inglewood.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Soon after its publication, Facebook users discovered that they were unable to share the Post\u2019s story.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>When users attempted to post the link, they received a message warning that the content \u201cgoes against our Community Standards.\u201d Facebook told \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/facebook-bans-sharing-new-york-post-report-blm-co-founder-home-purchases\"><span>Tucker Carlson Tonight<\/span><\/a><span>\u201d that the content \u201cwas removed for violating our privacy and personal information policy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HawleyMO\/status\/1382787001800359942\"><span>noted<\/span><\/a><span> on Twitter that The New York Post had suffered similar censorship in the recent past: \u201cwhere have I seen this before\u201d?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Hunter Biden\u2019s Laptop<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Indeed, groundbreaking New York Post stories have repeatedly been the target of big tech\u2019s ire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In October of 2020 \u2014 less than a month before the presidential election \u2014 the Post <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/14\/email-reveals-how-hunter-biden-introduced-ukrainian-biz-man-to-dad\/\"><span>confirmed<\/span><\/a><span> that Hunter Biden had introduced Ukrainian energy executive Vadym Pozharskyi to his father.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cDear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It\u2019s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,\u201d read an email obtained by the outlet. The message appeared to stand in stark contrast to then-candidate Joe Biden\u2019s claim that he had \u201cnever spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Although the story had potentially massive implications for the Biden campaign, Twitter stopped users from sharing the story link on their platform \u2014 a move <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/12\/16\/covering-for-hunter-biden-why-americans-distrust-the-media\/\"><span>condemned<\/span><\/a><span> by The New York Post\u2019s editorial board as indicative of why Americans distrust legacy media and big tech.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWith the election over, news media that followed Facebook and Twitter\u2019s lead in suppressing the report are finally running it,\u201d the editors wrote in December. \u201cBut they\u2019ve taught the public not to trust them. And the social-media firms provided damning evidence that they qualify as publishers, not \u2018platforms\u2019 that can escape accountability for their content.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cSure, Facebook, Twitter and other media are private companies and can do whatever they like. But news gatekeepers have an ethical duty to present <\/span><i><span>all <\/span><\/i><span>the important news, even when it makes their favored candidates look bad,\u201d they added. \u201cGetting caught keeping Americans in the dark is an extremely bad business move.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Republican lawmakers agreed. After the election, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cornyn.senate.gov\/content\/news\/twitter-censoring-ny-post%E2%80%99s-hunter-biden-story-%E2%80%98mistake%E2%80%99\"><span>grilled<\/span><\/a><span> Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey \u2014 who has donated extensively to many left-leaning causes, including Boston University Professor Ibram X. Kendi\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article?id=15511\"><span>Center for Antiracist Research<\/span><\/a><span> \u2014 about the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYou do realize that by taking down that story you probably gave it more prominence and more visibility than it ever would have gotten had you left it alone?\u201d asked Sen. Cornyn during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. Dorsey responded that his firm had made a \u201cmistake\u201d both \u201cin terms of the intention of the policy and also the enforcement action of not allowing people to share it publicly or privately.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>DeSantis COVID Roundtable<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Labeling it as \u201cmedical misinformation,\u201d YouTube took down a video of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) speaking about COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In early April, Gov. DeSantis <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/states\/florida\/story\/2021\/04\/12\/desantis-tears-into-youtube-over-claims-of-censorship-1373586\"><span>hosted<\/span><\/a><span> a discussion with Hoover Institution fellow Scott Atlas, Harvard Medical School professor Martin Kulldorff, Oxford epidemiologist Dr. Sunetra Gupta, and Stanford University Professor Jay Bhattacharya. The medical professionals spoke against the need for children to wear masks to school; for instance, Bhattacharya said that the policy was \u201cabsolutely not the right thing to do,\u201d observing that \u201cif we went back a year, a lot of experts would say that wearing masks for the general public is not evidence-based.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Dr. Anthony Fauci \u2014 who leads the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases \u2014 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-5-different-mask-policies-held-by-dr-fauci-in-11-months\"><span>told<\/span><\/a><span> Americans as recently as March 2020 that \u201cthere\u2019s no reason to be walking around with a mask\u201d in response to COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>YouTube \u2014 which is owned by Google \u2014 removed Gov. DeSantis\u2019 video to \u201csupport the health and safety of our users,\u201d according to a statement provided to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/youtube-purges-florida-governor-video-over-claims-children-dont-need-to-wear-masks\/\"><span>TheWrap<\/span><\/a><span>. A YouTube representative said that the video \u201cincluded content that contradicts the consensus of local and global health authorities regarding the efficacy of masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Gov. DeSantis has frequently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/8-times-ron-desantis-stood-up-to-the-media-and-went-viral\"><span>slammed<\/span><\/a><span> big tech companies for suppressing conservatives on their platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWhat began as a group of upstart technology companies from the west coast has since transformed into an industry of monopoly communications platforms that monitor, influence, and control the flow of information in our country and among our citizens,\u201d said DeSantis at a press conference about a bill that would enact fines for instances of censorship. \u201cThese platforms have played an increasingly decisive role in elections and have negatively impacted Americans who dissent from orthodoxies favored by the big tech cartel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Project Veritas Facebook Sting<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>James O\u2019Keefe and Project Veritas are continuous targets of censorship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the wake of Project Veritas releasing footage critical of a Facebook executive two months ago, Twitter \u201cpermanently suspended\u201d the official Project Veritas account for \u201crepeated violations of Twitter\u2019s private information policy.\u201d The company also temporarily <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/02\/11\/project-veritas-suspended-twitter-468748\"><span>locked<\/span><\/a><span> O\u2019Keefe\u2019s account.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cTwitter locked Project Veritas\u2019s and my Twitter accounts, claiming we violated Twitter Guidelines by posting a video of our journalists asking questions of Facebook\u2019s Vice President Guy Rosen which Rosen refused to answer,\u201d O\u2019Keefe told Politico. \u201cTwitter claimed the video published private information, which is false.
