(Columbus Police Department via WSYX-TV via AP)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 9:54 AM PT \u2013 Wednesday, April 21, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>Protests erupted in Ohio following the death of a teenager during a police response to a 9-1-1 call.<\/p>\n<p>During a press conference Tuesday, the Columbus Department of Public Safety released body-cam footage showing 16-year-old Makhia Bryant brandishing what appears to be a kitchen knife before being shot during the encounter. Authorities transported Bryant to a nearby hospital where she later died.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Millennial Made Media Group: WARNING. As they gather the necessary information, local officials are asking residents to remain calm.
